Have you considered taking down some of your fence so the truck can access the pad?

Yeah but to save $300 bucks for the effort to move the fence and have them tear up my yard aren't worth it.

I pay $3/ft for patio/driveways. Even with a pump 1,500 would be on the higher end. You're probably getting prices from guys who don't really want the work but if you're willing to overpay they'll do it

Yeah 6-$8 that's about what I was expecting. Just haven't gotten close to that on the first two bids.

Here in NOLA I have a Mexican crew, they do great work and finish in a day. $6 all day even if they have to bust out the wheelbarrows.

Georgia buggy. Rent for less than $100. Concrete $110 cu yd. I poured 4 cu yards in the back yard (truck stayed parked on the road) in less than an hour. Georgia buggy holds 1/2 yard. My 67 year old dad and I did the finishing. Total cost including forming boards was less than $800

$5.00-$5.50 all day everyday on that. Send your address and we will be there in the AM to pour it and my guys will be gone by noon.

find a cement finisher, who has a mixer and a couple of wheel barrows. Might take 3 men, but bet they can do in a day. They will tell you how much mix to buy.

That should be about 2 yards of concrete.

Call the redi mix folks in your area and ask which one would pour that little amount and if they have a recommendation on who to get to build the forms and work the concrete.

You can rent the Georgia buggies.

Sounds very high to me.

Just bought a new home few months ago. Called the contractor that did the driveway pour and worked out a deal to have a parking pad, 15'X15' rear patio and 10'x10'shed foundation all formed and poured for 3K.

Shop around. You should be able to get it in the $3-$4 per sq/ft range easily. Especially if paying with cash.

More like some Mexicans and a wheelbarrow

That is a one wheel Mexican Dump Truck. And yes for that little bit any crew will wheelbarrow that. No need for a Georgia buggy. And should not pay more than 4 -4.50 for that small amount in Lafayette. Call the Redirect Mix companies and ask. They will give you plenty of people to call. just had 2400 sf 4" formed, steel, visqueen, 4x4 wire welded fabric, chairs, concrete placed and finished for $3.25 sf labor and material.

300 SF @ 4" thick is ~3.7 yards, which means order 4.5 or so. You will pay at least $600 for the concrete depending on load charges.

Not being able to get to it and without knowing the exact situation, will add a big chunk to the total.

In my area, flatwork guys typically are x2 the concrete cost depending on being able to access. I would say that $2000 around here would be about the number and that would be on the high side.

$3000+ really seems excessive. I get about $750/CY on minor structure on state jobs, you are pushing that on a flatwork job. You really have to have a lot of issues in getting concrete.

Best advice in this thread.

Also, 90% of the time if you rent a Georgia Buggy the truck driver will run the buggy.

Concrete is "placed" not "poured".

Work in progress brother. Have to do a little at a time here. Keeps the family happy at the moment. If trashy to you .. then frick you (literally) .. you are not invited for BBQ and beer.

Sheesh .. kids these days!

BTW .. speaking of trashy af .. I have been to Vaught–Hemingway Stadium for a football game .. an above ground swimming pool would be an upgrade.

Not too sure, but whatever you do....pay someone to do it. I helped my dad do something similar in his backyard in the middle of the Texas summer a couple years back. Ended up being quite a bit more labor intensive than he imagined, and certainly more involved than he led me to believe.

It was miserable, and everytime I visit and see that patio on the side of the house, I curse it.
