My daughter stepped on a copperhead and it bit her on her toe. I cut the snake's head off and put the snake in a solo cup.
Went to ER and told them she was bit by a copperhead. They asked how could I be sure it was a copperhead. I showed them the cup and asked them what they thought it was.
She was one of the first children to get the synthetic anti-venom. She stayed overnight and the CDC got updates every 2 hours.

One.
Stupid arse guy I grew up with playing with a coral snake and luckily it didnt release the venom. He didnt know it was venomous.
This same stupid sumbitch grabbed a beaver by the tail amd when he tried to grab it by the neck it bit thru that portion of skin between the thumb and forefinger.
I think after those rounds of tetanus shots, he stayed away from animals altogether.

My hunting buddy was bitten on the end of his dick by a rattle snake, I rang the doctor to ask what the best plan was to save him fast and he said to suck the poison out as quickly as possible or he’ll die. My buddy asked, “What did the doctor tell you?” Doc says you’re going to die.”

Red to yellow, kill a fellow. Red to black, venom lack.
Or as my camp counselor said, "if you see any snake with red and yellow stripes just get the hell away from it."

One. My friend and his kid were walking down the sidewalk back to the truck after a neighborhood swim meet. The kid walked past first and the snake hit dad. Copperhead just chilling right next to the sidewalk in a neighborhood.
After a trip to the hospital and and longer than you would expect and he was back to normal.

My wife's uncle got bitten a bunch of times but he was a snake guy and had all kinds of venomous snakes he milked for venom. I remember when i went there and the King Cobra tank had a lid with a 5lb weight on it but there was another plexiglass one with a bunch of locks that apparently had one of the worlds most venomous snakes in it. He was a crazy dude who worked ATC at a local airport, flew stunt planes (had an avenger themed stunt plane) and did the snake thing on the side. He died of Leukemia, not the snakes.

Got bit by a Copperhead when I was thirteen or fourteen. Thought I had killed the snake and picked it up to chase some girls. It wasnt dead and it got me in the forearm. Arm swelled up and I got sick. No doctor visit or anyhting.

SImilar situation when I was a kid and a copperhead bit my shoe. Hung a fang in it and that's the only reason I knew it because the venom and the curve of the fang irritated my foot and started itching and burning. I went back and found him. I thought I'd just got poked by a thorn bush or something.

My grandmother was bitten by a copperhead when I was little. I think I was about 5 or 6. Got her on the back of her calf while we were out in yard raking up pine straw. She had us get in the car and she drove to the ER in town. She came out a little later with a bandage on the back of her leg and we drove home and she got back to work on the pine straw. She made me go in though because she was afraid I’d get bit.

I had an uncle that got bit by a copperhead on two separate occasions. The second time he got bit he saw the snake and it got him while he was keeping a kid away from a woodpile

I don't know any, but the most serious incident with a snakebite I have seen was a classmate in high school that got bit by a grass snake. We had caught it and were playing with it in class and it bit him on the knuckle. He ended up getting a staph infection. Now this was in high school (somewhere between 5-35 years ago), so I don't recall all the details exactly, but I believe it was 1-2 weeks he spent in the hospital and for a while there they thought he might lose his finger? hand?
Don't take and bite lightly and always make sure you clean it well.

A friend of mine, who happens to be a former aTm running back, was leading a Boy Scout, troop on a trail hike, and in the process of teaching them not to step over a fallen tree for fear of a snake being on the other side, he stepped over a fallen tree and got tagged by copperhead on the other side of the fallen tree. He said the anti-venom caused more problems in the actual bite.
I never fail to give him a little shite over that.

This reminds me of an old thread on here about somebody's kid playing in the backyard with neighborhood kids and one of the kids got bit. Neighbor kid's dad was gonna sue the baw.

This is the guy that is getting paid hunting trips by these dirt bag service providers I have to use out here offshore. We tell them all the time that our vendors are ripping us off. Nothing ever changes.
