Don't give up. The fall garden is waaaaaaaay easier than the spring/summer. Each day in the fall gets better.

I added a couple inches of mulch covered with a couple inches of grass clippings a month or so ago. The mulch is breaking down nicely.

I plant broc/cauli/cabbage around the labor day weekend. Garlic in October. Onions on 12/15 or so.

My daughter stepped on a copperhead and it bit her on her toe. I cut the snake's head off and put the snake in a solo cup.

Went to ER and told them she was bit by a copperhead. They asked how could I be sure it was a copperhead. I showed them the cup and asked them what they thought it was.

She was one of the first children to get the synthetic anti-venom. She stayed overnight and the CDC got updates every 2 hours.

For the last 10 years we get a cool front come through sometime during teal season. This year it's 9/19 - 9/27.

I replanted 2 with an arctic frost and an Owari, 2 years ago, Both are doing fine, but the arctic frost is noticeably wider. Only 2 years in the ground and about 8' wide.

I had a scout show up in early March which was 2 weeks later than normal. I would only see a breeding pair show up every 3 or 4 days. Just the last few days they seem to be on the house all day. They are nest building now as I can see them land on the ground.
