How many lives is the US economy worth?

Put another way, how many saved lives are we willing to destroy the economy over? I have yet to hear anyone on TV even remotely attempt a direct answer to that question.
Is it one? No doubt there are leftists who think the answer is one.
Is it 1000?

There are 23 million people out of work because of the shutdown. How many lives are their livelihoods worth?

I thought the whole point of the shutdown and social distancing was to make sure hospitals didn't get overwhelmed; not to necessarily stop the spread of the virus, but to slow it down. I guess that's no longer the reason.

If you’ll check, you’ll find his numbers on jobs lost vs total Wuhan Virus cases are correct. In fact the jobs lost may be low. Well over over a week ago that number was already 16 million.
