All the time. Mainly independent music stations like KLSU or WBRH in Baton Rouge or WWOZ in New Orleans.

99% of the time I'm listening to music it's from a streaming service where I can pick what I want to hear.
I do this plenty, but it's nice to broaden your horizons and hear things that aren't on your radar. Even if they play something you familiar with and already enjoy, there is something nice about the surprise/randomness of it. I also enjoy the communal feeling that listening to something live and over the airwaves gives me, however silly that may be.

If I have to listen to the radio I'm annoyed by all the constant commercials and will gladly pay for spotify premium.
I don't have this issue with the type of listener-supported stations I generally tune into. But you're right in general, the commercials are awful, especially the car ones.

My car is 3 years old and I honestly can’t tell you if AM or FM radio even works

Streaming WWOZ during Jazz Fest or French Quarter Fest is where it's at.

Half Spotify half radio
When I do radio it’s 1 of the 2 classic country stations here.

The ads and constant talking drives me nuts. I’m here for music, not to hear the DJ talk.

I pretty much listen to local sports talk radio and podcasts only anymore these days.

I often have the classic rock station on. Always find some decent stuff to add to my playlists

95% of what I listen to is regular radio
Every so often I connect to my iTunes
I’m old & work from home so I don’t spend much time driving

I do right now because I don't have good negotiating skills for Sirius. I actually canceled
Posted on 4/29/25 at 1:54 pm to sidewalkside
I do. I’ve never bothered to pay for Sirius or whatever. Just doesn’t seem worth it

I work out of my truck and flip channels all day. Mostly local sports and news talk shows. Mainly background noise.

I do. Everytime I'm in a vehicle, it's old school radio. frick paying for Sirius XM.
I also have standard Spotify, not premium. I'm not paying money to skip a few commercials every now and then. I really just have it on for background noise and so it's not dead silent.
I refuse to pay for a "conveniece" that doesn't make my life more convenient.

temporarily driving a 2000 single cab 1500 silverado with zero bells and whistles. first couple of days it was weird not being able to bluetooth and stream during my daily commutes but I have gotten used to it. Still contemplating putting car play screen in it but most likely will not. now its just me and JOX sports talk and whatever station has the best song on.

They play some great tunes. One time, I emailed the KBON DJ to inquire about a song they played. He responded that it was from a cassette they had on hand.
I’m glad they have preserved all of this local music that can’t be found anymore and continue to play it. BTW, the song was “Mr. Charlie” originally performed by Lightnin’ Hopkins. The version KBON plays is by Clarence LeDay and the Outsiders. It’s from a cassette called "Miss You Like The Devil."

I listen to local sports talk all day. If is after 6 and I'm still out working I'm listening to my playlist on my phone or Sirus in my truck.

I listen to a classic rock and blues station out of Mobile, another station, and occastionally the NPR station until they go too full libtard on me...
Other times I listen to Nugs and Spotify.
Sometimes I listen to WWOZ online.

Tried several times but it's not like before streaming or Sirius. Sad because radio could have a big impact if it wasn't controlled by conglomerates
