Two, wife but she provides a list and lets the kids know as well.
Best friend, but it’s easily done as he’s a medium-size golf shirt every year.

Exchange? Depends. At least we agreed with our siblings to not exchange gifts and just get the kids gifts
Give- Parents, In-laws, wife, staff

My 3 grown kids and my Godmother lol. I’m 64 and she still sends me something for Christmas and birthdays.

Parents, three siblings.
There was a sister in law, but she has decided to leave the festivities. My mom and sister want to send her coal.

Just my kids and significant other. I quit the “everyone needs a gift” years ago bc it was stressful. I’d rather give a thoughtful gift for someone’s bday.

Actual gifts? Maybe 4.
But I usually buy a case of wine for holiday parties or any last second surprise of a random third cousin showing up for a family get together.

We only have one child in our immediate family and she is 16.
The rest of my family are adults and we all exchange gifts. Add in bosses and close friends and we buy for about 12.

Probably about 15 or so adults when you include my parents, wife’s parents, grandparents, etc. It is a lot.

Every year I buy about 30 ribeye steaks. Keep them in an ice chest in my truck and hand them out as I see people over the holidays.

Three. I bought gifts for my boyfriend, my best friend, and my ex-husband (we buy gifts for my son to give to the other parent from him).

Zero exchange. I do give wine to my dentist and primary doctor.

Wife, 5 grown kids, 2 grandkids in their 20s.

My mom. That’s it.
Wife and I have everything we could possibly ever want or need. If we want it during the year, we buy it for ourselves.
Christmas is for giving, to kids, with no expectation of anything being given back.
Gift giving with adults always feels transactional. I give you $100 gift, you give me a $100 gift. It never made sense to me.

You do not buy your wife a Christmas present? Do it anyways...she needs to know she is special...learned that awhile ago. Even if it is something like a date, that means you both enjoy it.
Here I am giving martial advice to someone who is married and I am divorced..so ignore me, you know what you're doing.

Hard to buy for adults that have their own money and have what they want already.
That screams that I don’t know what their hobbies or interests are, or I don’t care to research a little. There is always a book or some accessory you can find. If you’d rather not risk buying junk, then a consumable gift is the way to go.
For adults, you just want them to feel appreciated. You don’t need to get them a brand new toy that they likely already have.
