Love that badge.

Big opportunity tomorrow. Sounds like Scum is missing quite a few first team players and they’re there for the taking.

15th and 10 points clear of the drop with a W.

I will always be a fan of Austin Simmons for how he handled this season. I know it couldn’t have been easy, but you haven’t heard one negative thing about him. I hope he has a great career at Missouri.
Will check that out - thanks! I’ll I’m going to get something collapsible that I can use as a personal item (as much as it pains me because I would love the Farpoint)
Awesome - thanks! I’ll check out the Daylight. Yeah I’m looking for a walk around bag - whether that’s in town or a 8-9 hour day hike. Also need something that’ll collapse and could be used as a personal item.

I think the 26-6 would be great but I’ve read that the straps aren’t very comfortable after an hour or two.

Would love the 40L Farpoint but feel like it’s going to be too big for just walking around town, also can’t compress down.

Right now we have:

Spring break - Costa Rica. Booked the flights/hotels in the past few days. Really excited for this trip.

May - road trip to Asheville.

Summer - 30A

September - Glacier NP - crazy how fast the hotels booked out. We were online when they opened up at midnight one year out and were only able to book one of the hotels (Many Glacier). Didn’t expect this to be an issue.

October - Disney
7 points clear of the drop, 3 points clear from Forrest. Who would have thought we'd be in this position a month or so ago.
Lets go! Great point. 6 games unbeaten.

re: Memphis - Things to do?

Will third Rendezvous. Never had a bad meal there. The Peabody ducks are something different to see. We typically go to Silky O'Sullivans if we're looking to kill some time, it's on Beale Street (the Bourbon Street of Memphis). The Orpheum is nice if there is a concert going on that y'all are interested in. Graceland is worth a stop if you've never been.

As far as Oxford - stopping by the Square is a must. There is paid parking meters around the Square, or you can park in the parking garage just off the Square for free.

You could also stop by William Faulkner's home (Rowan Oak). I'm not sure if the home itself will be open, but you can walk around on the grounds. There is also a trail through the woods between his house and campus that is worth the walk, depending on how much time you have.

When we go to campus on the weekends we'll typically park in the Circle - it's near the Grove, Lyceum, etc. and is the nicest part of campus in my opinion. Also near the football stadium if you walk to down to it.

Lots of good food options - not sure when y'all will be in town, but I'll list a few recommendations below:

Big Bad Breakfast (breakfast, obviously)

Boure (lunch/supper) (on square) - always my recommendation if you have a group that isn't sure what they want to eat - they have a little bit of everything - never had a bad meal.

Ajax (on square) - southern comfort food

Proud Larry's (on square) - good pizza, pasta, burgers, etc.

Saint Leo's (on square) - italian

South Taco Depot (on square) - really good taco's, burrito's, etc.

Blind Pig - good bar food, good place to get drinks.

For drinks - we like going upstairs to City Grocery (on square), or to Circle and Square.

If you have any Oxford specific questions just let me know!

Welp, Amp just missed a massive chance. May not get another served up like that..
Happy New Years!! Very suprised with DCL - agree with it being a load management thing… guess it’s smart to take a punt on this game, if it’s close in the second half then bring him on, if not just keep everyone healthy and the GD down.
Yeah that’s one thing I’ve learned from all of this - I thought I’d be able to find a very comfortable day pack (with the strap around your waste) that also qualified as a personal item, but I’m learning that the strap normally comes with the larger packs with frames that can’t be squished down under a seat.
I understand the sentiment but I am looking for something I can carry all day. I have two young kids and a pack rat wife. So, a backpack is a staple for any travel we do outside of the house.
How comfortable is the Osprey 26+6 for extended use during the day? Basically as a “I’ve dropped all of my clothes, toiletries, etc. at the hotel and I just need a bag to carry around the misc. items I need to get me through a day” type of situation? I’ve gotten mixed reviews on how comfortable it is past the leaving the airport and dropping the bag off at the hotel point.
I’ve gone down the backpack rabbit hole and I’m looking for recommendations on a comfortable backpack that would pass as a personal item on a flight. We’ve used my wife’s old school backpack for the last 10+ years and each time we come home from a trip I swear I’m going to replace. It has great storage, just uncomfortable to wear all day.

If I were to purchase something right now it would probably be the Osprey Proxima 30L. The Aero City Pack Pro 2 seems like another good one. Would love to hear any opinions on these if anyone has them!

I recently purchased then Osprey 40L Farpoint that’ll be using as a carry-on, but I’d really like something else for when we fly a budget airline, or just want to carry something a little smaller.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Not looking to spend more than $250.

re: Cost for trip to Italy?

I believe we spent around $7,000 in 2019 for 10 days, but this was 2019 and pre-COVID so take that for what it’s worth… but we absolutely loved our trip to Italy. We went to Rome, Florence and Venice.

Rome was neat for the history, but it was our least favorite - really enjoyed the Trastevere area, if we’d stayed in this area I think our experience would have been a lot more positive, but as it stands Rome is a place that we’re glad that we’ve seen, but wouldn’t go back.

We did really enjoy the coliseum tour, pantheon and the Sistine chapel tour.

Venice, surprisingly, was our favorite part of the trip. Going into our trip I read that people either love or hate Venice, so I was apprehensive going in, but we absolutely loved it. The narrow alleys made Google Maps pretty terrible, so we were constantly getting lost, which sounds frustrating (and it was at times) but it’s also what made the trip so memorable - by getting lost it forced us off the beaten path and into more of the local areas that were not nearly as crowded and we got to see apart of Venice that doesn’t show up on Google searches - was really awesome.

Also, the best restaurant experience we had an Italy was on the island of Murano at La Perla Ai Bisatei. Small, local place that we happened upon. Walked in around lunch time, no frills, none of the staff spoke a lick of English, you had a few tables of old men sitting around BS’ing, each with a pitcher of wine between them. The food was really good, but we just loved the atmosphere- felt like we got a “true” Italian experience that day. Before that we went to church on the island, again just happened to be walking by when they were starting - walked in, sat in the back, couldn’t understand a single word but we loved it.

Really enjoyed Florence as well - one regret we had here was not getting out of the city some and into the Tuscan countryside, just didn’t have the time.

Will add - we are not “art” people, but seeing the statue of David is definitely worth the money, saying this as someone who didn’t care for the rest of the museum.

One more thing I’ll add (and this goes form Rome, Florence and Venice) - the popular spots will obviously be super crowded during the day, but, if you’re able, find the time to wake up early and beat the crowds to some of these spots - makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
Were we really unbeaten in December? That’s honestly pretty incredible, especially when you consider our form coming into the month…

Point was fair, little disappointed, but would have taken the point coming in, so no real complaints.

Onto Liverpool and Anfield…

Haven’t bought anything from Nike since Kaepernicks “Even if it means sacrificing everything” ad. Hate it too - they were my go to for athletic gear for a long time.

Also shame my wife anytime she wants to go to Target after the bathing suite incident.
