Yes, F King made sure of it (annexing all of the LSU property into the City of BR was one of the schemes to sabotage the first St. George incorporation effort)

I think this has been the long play since the inception.

How long before the Pride area wants to join Central or Zachary? Northeast schools are extremely isolated from the rest of EBRPSS.

LSU has been inside the BR city limits for decades, long before FKA got here.

What you’re thinking of is some undeveloped rural acreage LSU owns south of LSU between River Road and Nicholson Dr. towards the L’Auberge casino.

During the first SG petition drive LSU requested that rural acreage be annexed by BR because the adminstration didn’t want to have to deal with two different city governments if the incorporation happened.

Yes, you are correct. Only parts of LSU were annexed several years ago. The main campus was already in BR long before King A was president.

They annexed the South Campus and a lot of acreage to connect the Casino to BR.
Thxs for the correction.

I’m actually pro St. George but against the deconsolidation of the City-Parish Government.

There’s a great deal of cost-savings benefit to more centralized services in Public Works, Libraries, Transit, etc.

Not to mention a strong St. George will keep the white flight down and allow for more conservative leadership Parishwide. Remember terrible canidiate Bodi White lost by less than 4,000 votes.

Never thought I'd say this, but once STG goes through we should team up with the NAACP to make this happen.

There is NO savings. BR is currently the 5th over-leveraged city in the USA. Their bloated pension debt is eating them alive

NAACP is one of the most corrupt organizations in America. The only color they love is GREEN.

BR or EBR?

And there are certainly services that have better use at a consolidated level.
