If Harvard continues cherry picking its undergraduates based on social justice, then it will no longer be the place where student talents are maximized.
You clearly don't understand the applicant pool for Harvard or MIT or any of the elite colleges. They have so many highly qualified applicants of every color, stripe and ethnicity that they can almost chose randomly among their qualified applicants. If they want a chair to have a black student, they have 10 super-qualified black students that they can put in that chair. They can pretty much do whatever racial or ethnic mix they want and still have a class populated entirely of elite students.

Look at the difference between who is accepted to LSU med school in New Orleans vs Shreveport. The demographics are very different and so are the test scores and academic records. At least, it was 20 yrs ago.
LSU NOLA attracts the better students and I also believe it to have better education. I don't think the demographics are different now, however.

I would like to see a college where you fill out your application completely anonymous, your high school submits your grades and test scores with no names or race tied to them. This would be truly unbiased and fair, and actual equal opportunity.
I've been saying this for years. It should be illegal for someone to ask you your race on any application if the "actual goal" is to achieve true equality.

So you're saying that whites and Asians are held to a higher standard because of their ethnic background?
Racist?
No
Asians are held to a much higher standard. So much so that it's handicapped to benefit even white people

During our M1 year, we found out that the 15 african american students were offered to take a summer gross anantomy class before taking the actual gross anantomy with the rest of our M1 class. I think 2 of the 3 that actually finished refused the summer course.
LSU New Orleans has something similar, and the entire point is to help prop up the weaker students.

The Twitter commenters don't disappoint, as usual. But they do confirm I live in an alternate universe from most of them.
I loved the one where the original Tweeter said it wasn't good or bad he was just posting the study. And some idiot compared the study to someone being kicked in the head. Wat??

I think you're exaggerating to a certain extent.

Many of those Asians aren’t Americans.
We should encourage our universities (public and private) to educate the rest of the world?

Harvard doesn't want to become an Asian nerd factory, and I don't blame them.

I could see a college’s point of view. They want to create an environment that preps people for the real world and the real United States is not 98% Asian

But that's not all college is about.
I'd be fine if they excluded race/sexual orientation, but your entire profile as a student is more than just your GPA and test scores.
ETA - Harvard should accept a well rounded class of students who are smart enough, not necessarily the smartest kids only. Race/sex shouldn't matter.

If they're considering race, they are IMO.
If they're not letting you in because you have the personality of a door knob, they're not.

Read the statistics in the OP. It doesn’t support what you are saying.
