how Harvard’s composition would change if admission based solely on being top decile

I'll never understand how it's not illegal/racist for schools to only accept a certain number of Asian students in order to allow less qualified other races. If I was turned down from a top tier school only because I was Asian, I'd attempt some kind of lawsuit.

Um you do realize Harvard has been sued for exactly this and the case is going before the Supreme Court, don't you?

On the one hand its a private school, so I dont really care who they let in.
On the other I dont like the precedent they set, as it will be used by other colleges as some sort of "best practice" idea.

Nope. I do know they are no where near the only school that does this. I mean it wouldn't matter my race because I was too dumb to get into those schools period, but it's complete BS they can turn down more qualified students.

So if this were the case, using the ethnicity breakdown there were:
308 Blacks admitted when should have been 19
463 Asians admitted when should have been 1001
248 Hispanics admitted when should have been 45
957 Whites admitted when it should have been 900

I would like to see a college where you fill out your application completely anonymous, your high school submits your grades and test scores with no names or race tied to them. This would be truly unbiased and fair, and actual equal opportunity.

It is already practiced by every medical school in America, if admittance was based solely on GPA and MCAT scores every entering class would be 95% Asian.
