That is one thing that can be controlled through the legalization of weed. As for other drugs like cocaine and heroin, the best protection is not to take them.

First they took away the fun of kids trick-or-treating on Halloween, then they ruined being a college freshmen by raising the age to buy liquor, and now they're taking away that same aged guy being able to safely smoke a joint. Might as well learn a trade cause college is no longer fun.

I used to party when I was younger. Not anymore, too old for that. But I have a few buddies that still do and I ask them how they ensure their supplies are not tainted with fentanyl. The answer is surprisingly fallible...they say "we get it from the same chick we always have and she's got good stuff. We don't buy from randoms" I'd be terrified that some day she might get some bad stuff and it's over.

I’ve never taken a pill(ecstasy, etc) or smoked weed. Never taken a single illegal drug. I don’t get the urge? I guess I don’t know what I am missing?

Drugs are a great way to expand your horizons in your 20s.
They are pointless once you hit your upper 30s though. Better to switch over to coffee and the stock market at that point.

If you’d taken the opposite approach you would have more money and the ability to explore more horizons. Compounding is a helluva drug.
