I make money, she spends money. I have to make more than she spends to keep it sustainable.

We have a joint account for the mortgage. I pay almost all other bills and she puts a portion of her check into savings.

All direct deposits to one account. Bills paid and xfers to savings from main account.

Allowances then xferred to our solo personal accounts for gas and weekly spending.

When it comes to holidays, we each get a holiday allowance we can spend on each other. Big purchase decisions are always made together. I manage it all, but she has all the passwords and has access to the spreadsheet I use to manage it.

wife and I have joint accounts. I handle all the bills, investments etc. she doesn’t even know the password word to our checking accounts.
All passwords accounts etc are all accessible though in case something were to happen to me.

We always make logical decisions on any purchase over 1k.

We have a 10-15 minute discussion over budget every Sunday I complain she spent to much she says well it was on sale. We continue on it works for us and by being transparent allowed us to continue to hit our finiacial goals!

Joint accounts with both of us working. I can’t comprehend the separate account shite. Seems like a giant hassle for little or no payoff

It works like this.

I make all the damn money, then she and my daughter spend 120% of it even when it’s millions

We split the bills 50/50 and contribute agreed upon amounts to joint savings/investment accounts. After that we don't care what the other does with what's leftover.

Split accounts, we both use Chase so she just transfers money over to help with bills.

Joint everything except for Roths.
I take care of all the bills and all spending goes on one credit card. We don't buy much stuff.

Dividing bills between husband and wife is the dumbest idea I've ever encountered.

Is she your roommate or your wife?
What's the point? It seems like a setup for failure.

She pays the bills. I look at the investments.

I make almost all of the money.
We max all possible retirement vehicles including 457 and 403b and a SEP for side business.

We buy whatever we want within reason.

One checking, one savings, one credit card, all shared. We don't look at our incomes as being separate.

Kind of a free for all. Thankfully we don't have to live paycheck to paycheck. Honestly I haven't looked at out checking account or credit card balances in years. If one of us wants to buy something more than a few hundred we run it past the other. We trust each other's judgement elsewise.

I lucked out with my wife in every way including financially. When we got married we didn’t make much but I out earned her by at least double. I never made any issue of any money things at all except when money was tight and that was never an argument. I paid the bills and all money went into one account. Still does. She ended up going through the NP program and now out earns me by quite a bit and we spend whatever we want. She also has a structured annuity her parents set up for her. It started as our get out of jail free card and now it gets split between luxuries and investments.

Joint accounts. She handles all of the day to day finances and we talk about any purchases over ~$200.

That woman’s love for spread sheets is borderline autistic. I just let her work.

Nice timing on this thread. My wife told me this morning that she gets a monthly credit report of some kind that just uses her information. I don’t know what she had signed up for to get this, but she was happy to report it showed a 810 credit rating with the latest update

Separate checking. She’s responsible for paying the bills each month but I give her most of the money to do so. I handle the investments and savings
