A silent deep breath before I say the first word

I try to remind myself to control my controllable’s, getting angry about things that are out of my control doesnt make the situation better, easier or make me right by being angry. Ask yourself who does it serve to be angry.

I’ve got a real problem with assholes on the road. Why are so many drivers willing to die or kill someone else just to get somewhere 5 min faster?
What gives me solace is that I’ll never see that person again.

I think of the negative repercussions if I act out in anger.

Most people never yell out racial slurs except when they are driving. Especially driving alone. You’ll probably get some wild shite if people were mic’d up

A lot of people get angry, because they people around them have no consideration for how their actions, or inactions, impact the thousands of people a day they are somehow around. They just don't care. Hence, rage.
You can do this without getting angry. You are saying that your mood is completely dependent on other people. That’s no way to live.

Remind myself that being angry is a choice

I think a lot of people in this thread are mixing up "anger" and "losing their temper." Two different things IMO. I am 100% OK with being angry at the stupid worthless MF'ers that go through their lives not giving a single shite about how their dumbass actions effect everyone around them. Them being inconsiderate asses pisses me off. That's OK.
What is not OK is losing my temper over it. I used to lose my shite and I wasn't shy about confronting people and telling them what dumbasses they were being. Then I heard a speech by a guy I respect who said "losing your temper isn't a comment on the subject of your anger. It's a comment on your inability to control your rage. It's a YOU problem." I believe that. So now, when some 60 IQ dipshit brings me fries instead of onion rings and puts lemon in my ice water when I told them not to, I take a breath and tell them to try again "please."
But I hold onto that anger inside because caffeine and hate keeps me going day in and day out.

I don’t get angry, I get even. If it’s not worth the effort to get even then I just let it go. If you can’t get that far then seek professional anger management.
Life is too short to waste on useless energy expenses like silly anger. Ask yourself “what has being angry ever achieved?”

Hit things. People.
Seriously, if you're into it, consider taking something like a cardio kickboxing class or a Title Gym boxing class and hit the heavy bags. Or, if you're up for it, some self defense or martial art where you spar. Don't worry, it's usually in a controlled environment where you're learning technique and people are controlling their strikes for the most part. I've been doing Krav Maga for example for 9 years and love it. After you finish that kind of class you have a health respect for what others might be able to do to you and you learn to control your temper in the "real world" real quick 'cause you never know what others might be trained to do.d

This is the first issue. Embrace it, let the hate flow.

What does “getting even” ever achieve? Seems like a silly waste of energy.
