How do you effectively control your temper when you find yourself getting angry?

I think a lot of people including myself struggle with keeping their cool. Prime example for me is when driving - I say things outloud that moments later I am ashamed to have said.

I'm trying to live a better life and be a better person. I never want to get angry and react to a situation in a way that hurts others or causes people pain. It's bad karma and not righteous behavior.

Despite that, I'm still human and make mistakes. I hope to hear some genuine responses and advice in addition to the traditional funny remarks

I struggle with that, a lot. Anger is what keeps me getting up in the morning sometimes.

Generally, shite is rarely worth getting riled up about imo.

Anger has its place. There are things out there that should 100% get us pissed off.

But like everything else, moderation is key. I try to save my anger for the things that truly deserve it and times where that anger can be productive

You are a weird cat. It’s simply called being a mature adult.

I tell myself that the other person isn't worth my energy. Whatever they did to piss me off, they won't lose sleep over it, so why should I?

When another driver cuts me off/ is weaving through traffic, I like to think they have to poop and are rushing home for it.

If I find myself getting riled up I try to step back and ask if it’s truly worth it. What will being angry accomplish?

It’s not easy, and I’m definitely not always successful, but I try.
