How do people in the deep south get blindsided by summer heat every year??

If you grew up down here you knew that July-August are hot as hell. Why In God's green earth do you raise hell at work, act like the world is ending, and that you've never felt heat like this before....
Are there others on this board who have to hear their coworkers complain as much as mine do?

When I was a kid I could tolerate it better.

Because we are retarded.
Also, it’s perfectly comfortable one day, 70-80 with moderate humidity, and then a warm front cokes through and BAM! High 80’s low 90’s with 70%+ humidity

Need to have A/C check and re-freon’d every year. Otherwise south isn’t a place people should live in.

This summer so far hasn’t been too bad

I think a lot of people know it's coming but still bitch about it, I'm not sure anyone in the South is surprised when it's hot out

Those people don't spend much time outside. My Daughter had her HS graduation last Sunday morning at 10 am. It was about 86 degrees and people were falling out with heat exhaustion from sitting in the heat. My son and I were like its pretty nice outside. The fatties can't stand it when it gets above 80.

People love bitching about the weather.
I bitch about the cold. I hate February. It is the worst month of the year.
Others bitch about the heat.
Weather is just one giant bitch-fest.
Also, since everyone is so fat, they can't handle the heat as well.

It shocks me every year how hot it is. Don't know why.

Most folks are malcontent's and they'll complain about anything.

I've never encountered anyone that acted blindsided by it. I think by this time of year, a lot of people are just over it. I know I am, at least the humidity. Being covered in sweat after walking to mailbox is irritating.

As people age there’s a tendency to gain weight.
Fat people don’t do well in heat

Because spring is all nice and shite then out of no where it's suddenly 95 every day

I remember in 2006 my wife and I bought our first house. It was a little cookie cutter with the bare minimum sized ac and no shade.
That summer we had something like two weeks straight over 100 degrees. It was 80+ degrees in the house everyday until the sun went down and my wife was pregnant.
We haven't had a brutal heat wave like that in awhile. The guys that came to check our AC were from Texas because the local companies had too much work to handle.
