I've lived in snow states.

Hot weather down here, you can go to the pool, or the beach, there are some pleasant things.

Places like Minnesota and Wisconsin have great summers, but shorter shoulder seasons and miserable winters. That picture people have in their heads about a nice snowfall and Christmas is nice and all, but reality is cold, grey, depressing hell with slush and salt everywhere for six months.

So I never complain about August heat down here.

Just because you’ve experienced the heat before doesn’t mean it isn’t awful now.

I mean we do see people here complain about everything daily.

I think this past Sunday was by far the hottest I felt it this summer. I was cutting my grass, and I typically cut my grass without a shirt. But I knew with that sun beating down and no cloud coverage that that wouldn’t be good for my skin. So I sweat through three shirts, and finally after the third one I just decided to go shirtless. By the time I was finished, it looked like I just got out of a swimming pool

Sounds like you have an outside job holding a sign directing traffic on a construction site..

Look, I much rather the heat than cold.. But when it is humid AF and hot you eventually get irritated if you are in it for awhile and when you are irritated you are more likely to complain about it.

Its the humidity more than anything. And it can absolutely drain you. Anyone from the south should understand that.

Waiting for it to cool down during summer is nothing like waiting for it to finally warm up in March/April.

I've trained myself to love the heat the past year by running outside during the hottest part of the day. Getting sunburnt and lathered up is like crack to me now.

I always know how hot it'll get. I just don't like it. And complaining makes me feel better.

The heat is manageable if you get acclimated to it. I worked in landscaping one summer in college and by the end of the summer, the heat didn't bother me at all. In fact, being in a cold house was more uncomfortable than being outside.

It's also a bit more manageable if you keep your house warmer and run fans. Set your thermostat to 78 or 80, and run some fans, and it doesn't feel as hot when you step outside.

I guess it's age, but I feel like it gets hotter than every year before. Mid-October to June are so nice and then every year I seem to have forgotten how awful real Louisiana summer heat/humidity is.

Was that a month ago when there was a heat dome? My brand new A/C was at least 4 points behind the actual temp. Brutal.

No dude. I have two units for my 4500 sq ft lakefront home and I keep the refrigerant full and the house cool.

Yeah, but he stays for months at a time. My dad doesn't fly anymore domestically. He told me just takes his time and gets there when he does.

Took off in Juneau a couple of weeks ago and it was 52 degrees. When i walked out of the Dallas airport it felt like i was in an oven, at 10p. Never appreciated AC as much as i did that trip.

I'm not the biggest fan of sweating multiple times/day just getting in and out of the car. However, I enjoy exercising in the heat at times. I definitely need to be careful if it's the middle of the day and often look forward to exercising in the late afternoon/early evening when it's still near 90 with high humidity.

The same way you are blindsided that people can complain about something.
