If you’re gonna ring up old shite, The Plaza was/is/and will always be the best bar/club in Lafayette. From 97-04 it was the place to be.

If you were into that type of crowd maybe. From about 94-01 IMO the strip killed The Plaza.

It's completely changed from what it use to be. Went downtown for the first time in yrs a couple months back on a Saturday to go eat. Went to the beer garden place after, I was amazed how dead the whole area was. They don't even have the horse patrol out there on the weekends anymore.

That is because all the thugs have migrated there.

Same here. Waaayyyyy less likely to get a DWI too.

There is a bar at the front of our street that draws an older more mature crowd when they have bands and its also smoke free. That's the only time we go out. We use to go to NOLA quite often too. Cut that out as well, to much crime.

Sucks to see this. I lived in Lafayette all of 93-94. I went out almost every night. Not downtown though.

Everyone in Lafayette wears tapout shirts. That fade has been going strong for close to 20 years.

Just had a horrible thought - what if hipsters started wearing Affliction shirts, like they were ironic t-shirts. The OP wouldn't be able to leave his house.

What do you Lafayette baws think about Rock& Bowl opening up a new place in Lafayette?

I understand they are spending major dollars, think it will be successful?

Know what Paul? It was different in the 80s too. Shocking, isn’t it?

It won't make it. People w/ money are needed to keep a place like that successful. The problem is people w/ money avoid the thug filled downtown area. Tsunami and Pamplona have their crowd but this rock n bowl will attract riff raff that most don't want to be around.

I think he was being sarcastic.

Im pretty sure what used to be Nitecaps is transitioning to a LGBT bar if it hasn’t already.
