They should have 49 east and west. West to Lafayette and east to BR starting at Alec.

Get me a quicker path from Shreveport to Baton Rouge. When I come home to visit I never make it to BR. The drive is too long.

There should be an interstate running from Alexandria, LA directly to Little Rock, AR. Never understood why one was never built.

Just move the state capital to Holly Ridge. Name it the Meta capital of Louisiana.

Or just build a short interstate to connect Baton Rouge to I-49. It could be an auxiliary route of I-49 that brings Baton Rouge traffic to the main route.

as someone who travels for work by taking 49 down to almost Lafayette then having to drive through the speed trap armpits of Louisiana to get to Baton Rouge... I support this
If not this, then somehow block them from setting up speed traps, thus cutting off their only source of money and let them finally whiter away and fall off the map so I can drive one damn speed

I-49 wasn’t completed from Shreveport to Lafayette until the about 30 years ago. Before that people had to travel on either Highway 1 or 71 to 190. Neither 1 nor 71 went directly to Lafayette or Baton Rouge.

Since we’re talking hypotheticals I always say how I-12 should extend and run parallel along Hwy 190 all the way past the Texas line where it funnels into I-10.
I-10 has way too much pressure going east west. A secondary east west route between I-20 and I-10 is needed.
I-49 is so irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Hell they’re better off converting Hwy 171 into a major highway connecting LC and Shreveport.

I think there are some plans for a new route called I-14 that should take some pressure off and connect some southern military installations.
