I make it every summer for the kids. Unfortunately it’s more expensive to make than to buy.

Loved when my parents would break out the rock salt and old time machine. We had the one with the motor but it was old. We would add cherries to make cherry vanilla

Mexican hot chocolate is really good too

I've heard the Honey Sopapilla is great but I haven't tried it yet

I don’t like store bought strawberry ice cream but homemade strawberry ice cream is the best. My granny used to make it every 4th when I was a kid.

I made some today, but technically the recipe I use is a frozen custard. It was fricking delicious.

I wore out a few cheap freezers until I bought one of these Amish made freezers about 4 years ago.

All made in USA.

Used to be a family tradition on July 4th. Have not done it in years. Damn you, Blue Bell homemade vanilla (minus listeria edition).

Does anyone still make home made ice cream?

Yep. Several different ways, also.

Dry ice method gives it a slight tingle and some tang. The 'stir and freeze' is great, as is the old timey method of mixer/salted ice (haven't bought the fancier type with the frozen sleeve). Best thing is you can make what you want.

Just tried it for the 1st time bc on sale. Very good. I’ll probably buy it occasionally not on sale now that I’ve tried it.

Now I need to run to the store for blue bell
Nah, they lost me when they started using HFCS. I want milk, cream, cane sugar and eggs, real vanilla, real chocolate, etc.

I'm pretty done with the chemical slurries these big companies are trying to pass off as food. If I'm getting a grocery store ice cream, it is usually Tillamook these days.

I don't buy it anymore. Make our own gelato at home. Have a cuisinart ICE-100 maker with compressor. Convenient and easy My own control of ingredients and endless flavors. I have a batch of Crema and a batch of Ameretto with chopped roasted almonds in the freezer right now.

Bought that trying to match or beat Baskin Robbin’s old Jamoca Almond Fudge, found I like Tillamook better!

They should reboot the Listeria and market it as GLP Cream.

Not anymore. I hit the latin stores and their shite is great. Nothing but what you need in it for ice cream
