I'm for them, as long as I'm drunk even before I get there. Another excuse to go party somewhere.

Social media has basically rendered reunions moot.

All the people I cared about in high school, I keep up with on Facebook and such.

I know what you mean, but liking a picture of someone and their spouse or stalking them in another manners isn't the same as bullshitting over a beer or two.

I've never been to one. The few people I care to keep in touch with, I keep in touch with. Don't care to see the rest.

But I just went to my 40th and that one was really good because at that point when you're late 50s and nobody cares about your job or your career or anythimg like that. Everyone was just really glad to see each other and happy we're all alive. And we had some "prodigal sons". make that one....some of the kids who got kicked out of high school. Good to see them.

So true, I have been to everyone since my 10th, the best time's started at 25th. 40th was a blast we had between 300-325 show and 45th is next year......Always a fun time, crawfish boils and more over 2.5 days......

tl:dr I'm old

Damn, I had no idea schools had 5 year reunions I went to my 10th but it was a borefest. Turn out was pretty low. I probably won't go to my 2oth, assuming they even do it.

I can't help but laugh at someone who remembers some stupid shite like this from high school and still hangs their hat on it.
Said someone who either wasn't voted anything or can't remember things or both.

I don't "hang my hat" on anything others said about me.

If I'm gonna pay $75 to hang out with people from high school, you bet your arse I'm gonna get $100 worth of drunk. They wouldn't expect anything less.

My fiance

You're engaged to a guy?

If not, the correct word is fiancée.

Blame the French for masculine and feminine nouns.

I went to my 10 and 20 year reunion. Had a great time. Brought back some great memories. I hung with the party crowd in school. I thought it was funny that most of us drank socially and visited while the straight laced individuals got smashed and danced. Late bloomers I guess.

At our reunion it seemed there were no clicks like back in school. Everyone acted more friendly towards people that they wouldn't have gave the time of day to in school.

You should go. You will have a better time than you think as someone previously posted.

I can see the reasoning for these high dollar reunions. I've been to 2. One was $20 a couple to cover food cost and BYOL. The other was $5 person at a bar we rented out for a private event. Had a great time at both.

I don't feel the need to attend any of my high school reunions. Facebook came out my freshman year of college so everyone from high school friended each other (once it made its way to the smaller schools), so I don't feel like I've ever lost touch with anyone or need to catch up. I also went to high school in MT so it's a pricey trip, if it were closer I would probably feel different.

I recently went to my first reunion. 30 years. It was a lot of fun and I'm really glad I finally decided to go to one. It was interesting that the guys didn't age very well, for the most part, but the girls did. One girl looked exactly like she did in high school.

You should go. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

How do you guys feel about them?
Graduated in 1981 (yeah, I am old). Never have attended one but I would like to. Have been in the military for the past thirty years so I have been a little busy.
