I have a rain shower. Hated it, then my kid showed me a tic tock video of an ole Baw that pulled out a plastic piece in the head to make it have a lit more pressure. I like it now. I have short hair so I dont have any problem rinsing my hair, wife uses the wand when she washes her hair.

two doors can support a 2nd floor better. a huge door is fugly like an airplane hanger.

Meh.... I have a 46' wide triple car garage with 12' wide doors and if I only had a two car it would be 32' wide with two 12' doors. So to each his on.
As long as you make the 2 separate doors extra wide, there is no problem. You avoid the "threading the needle" entry and exit every time.

Is it really that hard to move a pot 4' from the sink to the stove? Maybe its good for really old people?

Not to mention you have to move the pot to drain it anyway

So called water closets. Why does the toilet need its own tiny room? Who wants to be confined after an episode of explosive diarrhea.

The confinement is for privacy and for the code-required vent to remove the gases. I don't need to watch my wife wipe nor does she want to watch me. If you are claustrophobic, leave the door open.

This was the one thing I disliked about our bathroom when we bought the house, because I'm claustrophobic.....have come to love it. I don't care how long I'm with her I am never going to want to brush my teeth while my wife is shitting in the same room and vice versa...this solves that problem

I’ll take “Stupid Crap” for 1000 Alex.

We design a lot of consumer grade and residential stuff to utterly fail. And China loves us for it.

Woah what the frick?

My poop closet is the best feature of my house. I don't think I'll ever own a home without one. I can enjoy my dumps while my wife gets ready in the main area of the bathroom, etc.

I’ve seen under-counter microwaves touted as a more refined element and I don’t get it. Why would I want to have to bend over every time I use the microwave?

No one prefers under counter microwaves. The point of them is aesthetic; microwaves are very ugly.

"Rain" showers - seriously, what gives? The whole point of having a diagonally-aimed shower is you can keep your head above the water while you wash. Having it come straight down on top of your head is dumb. I can maybe see having it as a second nozzle just for shits and giggles if you have some big fancy shower, but otherwise, it's dumb. But people seem to shite their pants with excitement when they see them.

Your dislike of this proves you are a commie.

"Rain" showers are awesome when 2 people shower together, especially if one is much taller than the other. Both people get warm water instead of the taller person blocking everything. I’ve never seen a rain shower without additional shower heads also installed.

"Touch" faucets are useful when cooking or preparing raw meat to prevent cross contamination. I don’t personally care for them and you definitely shouldnt own on if you have a cat in your house.

Kitchen sinks with half-wall dividers and/or with a tiny side are useful in separating “dirty” and “clean” sink uses. Dirty dishes are washed or placed in the large “dirty” side until the dishwasher is empty of clean dishes. The smaller, “clean” side is used to wash hands, clean fruits & veggies, etc.

Tiny burners on a gas stove are used for sauces and small cooking stations. We have a small omelet pan that works perfectly on the small burner. Why stove tops have more than one is beyond me.

Double garage with a center post and 2 doors instead of one big door - I used to share your disdain for this model but have recently learned this design can be safer in inclement weather. Not sure how true that is.

Longitudinally divided refrigerator/freezers - i.e. 2 big French doors. When compared to the modern French door top fridge and bottom freezer drawer design, these just don't make any sense.

They do if you have to store large cookie sheets of food in the fridge. For example, if you are entertaining.

Our 3 car garage has 3 doors. 1 small. 1 double size. and one in the back to make it a drive thru to the back yard.

"Rain" showers

I would love one in my shower. A rented a vacation house in Florida with one and it felt great.

"Touch" faucets

When building our current house I wanted it but the wife thought it was completely unnecessary. I won and she loves it and is glad I talked her into it. When cooking meat, especially bacon, it is handy to just touch and quickly wash without getting everything greasy.

Square kitchen sinks

We don't have any of the issues you talk about and it is angled pretty good to drain.

Kitchen sinks with half-wall dividers and/or with a tiny side

I could see this. Ours is 2 big sides. I'd rather one big sink or a one with a big side and tiny side.

Tiny burners on a gas stove

Like others have said, sauces, veggies cooking, etc.

I like my french door fridge. The ice maker in the fridge takes up nearly zero room, about half of one of the doors. Plenty of room in the fridge for food. It also has a second ice maker in the freezer.

I thought this too but ever since getting a freezer put in the middle of the back wall in our garage, it is a constant battle with the wife since she manages to block it with her car half of the time.

No doubt. There’s a new house by me that looks like the doors are 8’ wide. I’ve seen them close the mirrors on their truck to pull it in. Then after it’s in the garage I’m not sure how they open the doors. Because it looks like there might be a foot between the two doors. Now that’s dumb.

I have a touch faucet right now, and I hate that thing with a passion. Only had it about six months, and I’ve spent more time fixing it than all of the other appliances in my house combined. Told my wife the other day that it has to go.

Only real trend i hate in New housing is how everything is white.

White cabinets, white appliances, white walls.

Feels like living in a damn lab or hospital

That makes sense for 2 people, but I see them in houses and hotels all the time where it's the only option.

It's just so easy to do the same thing with the actual faucet handle.

I'm talking about the tiny side, not just a smaller side. It's so small as to be useless. And nobody had addressed the half wall - that was the dumbest "feature of all".

Yes, one would be nice. But many of them have arguably more little than big. But like I said - can just use the simmer setting for small stuff anyway.

What? The kind I'm advocating is the only kind that accommodate what you are talking about.

I still don't understand how that's different than using the main faucet handle. It can be nudged on/off in the very same non-greasy way, only without all the dumb side effects of the touch kind.

I have a similar problem caused by our soft close toilet seats. I drop every toilet seat I use now from full open because I'm trained that it will close itself.
