"Rain" showers - seriously, what gives? The whole point of having a diagonally-aimed shower is you can keep your head above the water while you wash. Having it come straight down on top of your head is dumb. I can maybe see having it as a second nozzle just for shits and giggles if you have some big fancy shower, but otherwise, it's dumb. But people seem to shite their pants with excitement when they see them.

"Touch" faucets - these are the very definition of a solution to a problem that didn't exist. They do lots of weird shite like turn off if you pull down the shower hose. Pushing the normal lever up or down is stunningly easy - even if you have dirty hands. These are maddening.

Square kitchen sinks - several major brands have these now...and they are dumb. The non-rounded corners collect foodstuffs and get dirty and stay dirty. And the bottoms seem to be less angled to the drain (and lose the momentum coming off the curved walls) such that there is always food hanging out without getting washed down the drain.

Kitchen sinks with half-wall dividers and/or with a tiny side - the half-wall is another solution to a problem that didn't exist. It's dumb. And having the little tiny side is perhaps even dumber. What's the point?

Tiny burners on a gas stove - some pretty nice gas cooktops have dumb burner configurations. There will be more underpowered small burners than larger ones. Any halfway decent top now has so-called "stacked" burners - which allow for both full blast and for "simmer mode". This means the only rational configuration is nothing but big full-powered burners...which you can use on simmer if you need to.

Longitudinally divided refrigerator/freezers - i.e. 2 big French doors. When compared to the modern French door top fridge and bottom freezer drawer design, these just don't make any sense.

Double garage with a center post and 2 doors instead of one big door - I feel like this one is probably purely aesthetic, but the drop off in utility is massive when you have to start threading the needle like this.

For some reason, this has always gotten on my nerves.

This shite sucks on an electric even more since you don't get the same level of direct heat.

My stove has 1 large burner, 1 medium burner, and 2 small burners. So damn stupid.

Yeah, I really don't understand the very concept of the small burners. I guess maybe if you are some super pro who REALLY has to dial in your reductions and sauces, then maybe. Otherwise, give me big.

Ive only seen this in large showers that also include a diagonal one as well or even better, the diagonal one that you can pull off and extend. Being tall, I love having hot/warm water fall straight over my head.

I really only use them to heat up small sauces or canned beans, etc. Mostly they take up space.

But I could use 2 large burners almost every night instead of constantly juggling time and space.

I’ve seen under-counter microwaves touted as a more refined element and I don’t get it. Why would I want to have to bend over every time I use the microwave?

Me too. That’s why we went with 18 foot doors one on each side for a drive through garage. Awesome for crawfish boils and projects when it’s raining. Tons of open space and a lot of natural light and breezes when both sides are open.

We had a touch faucet in the kitchen sink and it was great until it wasn’t. About 3 years into service it started acting up intermittently, turn on by itself, not turn on at all, etc. I changed batteries multiple times then changed the solenoid and it just never worked right again. Other than that I enjoyed having it when I had messy hands or something I was holding made it easier to turn off and on.

I don’t understand your refrigerator point and haven’t personal experience with the rest.

We have the tiny sink and love it. It’s not really tiny though because the sink area overall is pretty large. It’s great for washing fruits and vegetables, draining pasta, thawing meat, and hand washing a small number of dishes.

We could easily live without it though. It was with the house when we bought it and we’ve just never changed it out.

Have you ever cooked using a small pot? You don’t always need a huge ring of fire. Also, I’ve put big pots of chilli and similar meals on the small burner if I want to keep them warm but
Not simmering.

Strange thing to complain about IMO as are most things on his list.

I can only imagine where my wife's car would end up in the garage otherwise.

When the recent storms came through Baton Rouge, many garage doors were destroyed, while the houses on either side with double garage doors were fine. So, There is some merit to the design for high wind.
