Drive around Tallahassee this morning and didn't see a single tree down. We came out of it in pretty good shape.

There is Comfort Inn, just east of I-75 in Yulee, Fl. . Check in, and drive over and spend a wonderful day in downtown Fernandina beach. It is an unknown jewel.

that is incredible news. Haven't really heard much about Tallahassee, so I reckon that is a good thing.

Cool. That last minute jog to the east spared thousands of trees. it went through an area that was cleaned o trees a few years back, along I-10.

The flooding near my neighborhood is anything but a nothing-burger.

Yeah lots of rain and the usual spots will flood unfortunately. However, As late a 2 AM this morning the weather people around here were still forecasting 80 + MPH gusts in the Atlanta area. Idiots.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen the NHC get the path so wrong after landfall. I swear it was supposed to go over Atlanta metro last night and completely missed it by almost 200 miles east.

I thought the NHC does not update the projected track/cone within 24 hours before landfall? Seems to me the post landfall track is usually off for that very reason.

There is also some great beaches, relatively uncrowded, and Camping is available. That downtown are is loaded with good food, bars, and shops.

ETA: You can drive on ssome of the beaches, if you are in a 4WD.

Her internal polling among blacks must be horrendous to use this storm as a race-baiting pandering opportunity.

Lost power in Vinings, the Chattahoochee is continuing to rise and has already flooded out a bunch of streets near the Paces Ferry bridge.
