What business? She looks like a catcher's mit that was used in 10 seasons, in the 1950's.

Yeah this was a big miss, just two days ago they had this riding up north along the Alabama/Georgia border, but this all the way over in South Carolina. Even Wilmington and Myrtle beach are being hit with tornadoes.

This was the Storm Prediction Center's outlook from an early update yesterday:

Both Myrtle Beach and the Wilmington area were in the Enhanced Risk area with a 10% chance of tornadoes.

Anna Maria Island got the Sanibel treatment last night.

That place is totally destroyed. Unreal. The island is 3/4 of a mile wide at the widest point and it was covered in water from gulf to bay.

There is only 2 bridges to get on the island other than a small one from Long boat key. They are both closed and emergency workers are not even going over there till the water goes down.

Pictures are horifying.

That sucks. Not many old Florida beach towns left. Now they are going to make it Destin south.

ABC Tampa had footage of a blvd. at Treasure Island that had two boats washed up, in each yard. Every house they were showing had 2 boats, washed across the median into yards.

When we’ve gone down we’ve stayed at a mom and pop place right on the beach in Treasure Island. Not looking forward to finding out what shape it’s in.

The Palma Sola causeway was closed here last night because three big sailboats had washed up on top of the bridge

It really seems like the NHC missed the mark on this hurricane. Instead of Atlanta getting hit directly, it will be a glancing blow. This is a huge mistake involving a large metro area.

Atlanta is currently under a Flash Flood Emergency.

You do realize that the cone focuses on where the center of the system is forecast to go, right? The width of the cone does not equal the width of the impacts of the storm. This was always going to be a large system with the impacts extending well beyond the center, particularly on the north and east sides. The center did end up a bit more east than the NHC forecast showed two days ago, but that happens sometimes. The impacts in Georgia and the Carolinas are still much the same as they would’ve have been if the center were a little more west right now.

First time in history Atlanta has issued that. Which is crazy and somewhat hard to believe. I remember some crazy flooding around Atlanta back in 2009 or somewhere around there
