More intense night in Charlotte than I was expecting.

Haven’t look up official gusts, but it was dang windy from about 4 am to 8 am. Still some wind now, but less

Well I just helped a bunch of white, black and brown people from our community in clearing our road to the highway of trees and debris.

The storm surge decimated the Cedar Key area. I didn’t see blue house, but I may have missed it.

Unverified reports from chatters say it did not. They are supposedly on the way to get the cam back working.

So Helen fell apart very quickly upon landfall. That's a good thing so why are people in this thread complaining about it to the point of sounding disappointed?

Lazy Atlantans hoping they get Monday off too

The storm is over 300 miles inland. That far inland there is always going to be large swaths of the cone that this is a nothing burger while a few miles in any direction might be getting wrecked by bands.

Unfortunately for us here in Kentucky and northern Tennessee, it’ll still combine with the front we have had sitting from the West. And it’s just going to sit and drump rain all day long.

We’re already over an inch of rain from last night so the ground is fully saturated (and rain the last couple of days). When we start getting some of the gusts this afternoon as remnants move in we’ll have trees down due to the saturation.

If you've got snapchat, an interesting thing to do is get on the snap map and look at the snaps over around where it went through to see real time updates

Some dumbass foreign truck driver got climbed on top of his trailer and lifted a sagging powerline so he could drive through

I hope everyone is safe. Wind is actually picking up here south of Charlotte. I am guessing ~25mph. Maybe I read it wrong last night but I didn't expect much if anything, I thought it was going more west when it got inland.

Charlotte had been in a Moderate Risk area for flooding rainfall for a while, and right on the edge of the High Risk.

Boone.....

I love that town and the entire High Country of North Carolina. Prayers for everyone up there.

Serial downvoter, I hope you lose your house to flooding.

Northeast Columbia in as well. Tree limbs down but nothing major. Surprised how high the wind has been since 4am.

Family in Greenville, Sumter, and Ridgeville don't have power.

I’m in south Charlotte and it has been about as expected for me. I got up around 4 and moved my truck from under some trees just in case, but we really only have some small limbs down. Of course power goes out here when it rains hard so that part sucks.
