They’re abandoned because they were one of the first states to put a travel ban in place. I actually had a vacation scheduled there for early April, but we cancelled after learning anyone arriving had to submit to a 14 day quarantine. We were still planning to travel there (virus notwithstanding) all the way until the first week of April, but with everything shut down AND their BS quarantine, we decided to forego that trip until later.

The more I think about the effect this is having and going to continue to have on New Orleans is so discouraging. I know that we give NOLA a hard time on this board, but with no festivals, conventions, or even bachelorettes/weddings etc for a year. A year? How will Harrahs make it? Think of all those restaurants and hotels affected. No fans at Saints games, if it comes to that? I don’t think it will but what if?
What are all those workers going to do? The restaurant owners and chefs? This is devastating to that city.
Man, I really hope this winds down very soon.

Absolutely agree.
The hospitality industry in NOLA is like no other.
They always made people feel welcome and genuinely seemed glad that you came.

There's a big difference between Kauai and Oahu. I think Kauai is considered the most tourist friendly travel destination.
