5Talked with a friend of mine that is a chef on Maui. He has been laid off and doesn't know what to do. "It's a ghost town, there is nobody here". "There is no way this Island survives harvesting pineapples and sugar cane".
He and his roommates have constructed a chicken pen in the front yard. Bought some chicks. "Eggs for three years, then broilers after that, if I can keep my girlfriend from naming them".
In February, Hawaii’s workforce was about 651,000 strong, and unemployment was just 2.7% ? far below the national average.

I mean, this is what they want right?
Locals have no one to sell, trinkets, Hawaiian ice, coconuts, and banana bread to.

They're protesting the TMT (Thirty-meter telescope) and so the protestors started driving around with the Hawaiian flags upside down, meaning distressed
