Your dad was NOPD?
My paternal granfather's brother was NOPD.

He did it for a few years in the early-mid 60s.
He was an excellent shot, which came in handy.

When I was a teenager, a long long time ago, a dude chased me and a couple friends for 20 miles because I flipped him the bird.
Got to friend's grandma's house out in the country (who wasn't home) and this guy comes flying into the driveway behind us and exits his vehicle with handgun drawn.
We had to run on foot for the woods. Dude could have shot a couple of us before we made it to cover. That was a long five seconds waiting to feel one in the back.
Turns out the guy was drunk in the middle of the day.
He never knew how lucky he was. If we had pulled into my grandma's house, he would've been shot simultaneously by at least two if not three family members.

Cousin pointed a revolver at my head when we were kids. I called his bluff and told him to fricking do it. Later I found out it was a well-made fake. All metal, no orange on it at all. Nothing to indicate it wasn't real, at least to a 10-year-old.

Yes, a couple times. Scariest was when it was a kid about 15 years old. They are the ones that will shoot you for no reason.

My idiot friend (everybody has one) threw a beer bottle at a Cholo sitting in a recliner in the bed of a pickup truck in Dallas. The dude reaches under his lazy boy and pulls a 45. We are 4 car lengths back. But it felt like he was on the hood.
Same idiot friend made his girlfriend, who wanted no part of shooting it, shoot his new Glock. She shot it 2-3 times, did not like it, while turning to tell him with finger on trigger, I get a good look right down the barrel. I fell back bending at the knee as like I got shot.

Yep in highschool. Several LSP and st Tammany police blocked off HWY 59 in mandeville one Friday night after we were followed by an undercover. I was in my friends dads truck with Texas plates and the truck matched the description of a bank robbery/ murder in Houston the day before. For some reason the plate wasn't coming back with the registered owner. Once we passed under the 59/i12 intersection we were forced to stop in the middle of the road by several cop cars and told to get out the truck one by one. Guns were drawn in all directions. Ordered back to the cop cars with hands up. They quickly realized they had the wrong truck and we weren't the perps.
Was a bit scary for a couple minutes as we had no idea what was going on till it was almost over.

In high school a friend thought his girl was cheating. We go to a party she may be at with dude and do not find her.
Friends empty the dads beer fridge and we take off. They notice it get scared call and threaten us. We act like Billy Bad A's and go back to throw down. We walked in to 3 shotguns pointed at us.
They were so drunk we just took the guns put them outside and left. In the end their dad found out about their party and thought they just drank all his beer.

I'm not sure I expected anything uplifting from this thread, but holy fricking shite that's beyond awful.
I've been pistol whipped sucker-punch style and gun was pointed at side of my head, at LSU lakes. Some idiot in a Saab SUV with Gwinnett County, GA tag pulled next to me in I-12 between Hammond and Slidel and pointed a gun at me. Minor detail he overlooked was his window was up.
That's all I got.

Just twice. So far so good.
Both times I was to stupid / drunk to appreciated the delicate situations
Talked my way out of both. But maybe just got lucky.

Woke up in Yusufiyah once with a mooj holding an AK to my head. He was supposedly a friendly we trained and about to go jihad on us. Put down my lapua laying across my chest and while standing up drew the Kimber and blew his brains all over the wall and spit on his face.
