When I was about 9 years old I could not get my go cart started. My dad told me to put my finger "right here" which was the spark plug. 9 year old me didn't know any better. He pulled the recoil and it shocked the shite out of me. My dad says "well it's getting fire so that isn't the problem." He denies that story to this day but it is true.

Worked as a grunt one summer for my uncles electrical contracting business. I guess they didnt finish a job fast enough and office tenant told him you gonna have to work around us. We had to change outlets live. Flung my screwdriver a few times that summer.

This thread made me think of this poor gal

Yes, I can only really remember once. I was helping my FIL with something in his laundry room and their walls had been stripped 3 feet up because of the 2016 flood. I was squatting down and my knee touched a hot 220 outlet that was exposed. Definitely felt a bit weird and my heart started racing.

I was at a friends house playing Tecmo on SNES. Lightning hit a clothes line outside. It jumped from the clothes line to the cable line and zap the entire house. Both of us had burns on our hands from the electricity arcing through the controllers.

Stuck a fork in an outlet when I was a toddler. It was my grandma's first time babysitting me, so that caused a scene.

Saw a criminal defendant get lit up by one of those shock belts they make unruly court defendants wear under their clothes. Those things are tazers on steroids. Holy cow that thing dropped him like a sack of potatoes and when he came to his fro was smoking and the courtroom smelt like burnt plastic. He behaved after that.

I had 660 volts of DC current from a locomotive knock me out for a few seconds one day at work. Knocked me from one side of the engine to the other side in the cab of the engine. Guy I was working with looked pretty concerned when I came to. He said "are you okay". I said yes, what happened. He told me and then asked me if it was okay if he laughed at me because he said that was the funniest thing he had ever seen.

Just one of those dog fence wires. It got my attention but wasn't "painful".

My old grandpa did that as a joke. Said "Hey boy, hold this while I pull the cord so I can see if it's firing. It was definitely firing! He never got me again though.

Way back when, we asked a property owner if we could fish his lake. He gave us permission. He had an electric fence and I got my line tangled in it while trying to take a piss out of sight. Untangling the lure was cool for about 10 seconds and then BAM! Lesson learned

I took a 480v arc flash about 5 inches from my face. It welded my eyelids shut by melting my eyelashes together. Thought I was blind. If it weren't for my glasses I probably would be.

Grounded a running 5hp with my sweaty forearm as a yoot. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Ding Ding Ding. Me right here. My wife had me swap all new switches and outlets and the fans after the Hurricane. Not lying...I shocked myself 5-6 easy.
