Well it was as of early 2024 when Ring started making the police get a warrant for the video instead of just sharing it with them. So they were violating your rights up to that point.

I have ring cameras but my gripe with them is not my rights. It's they all suck. I have a bunch of videos of the USPS lady halfway back to her truck. And mine trigger with cars passing.

I will probably put in a fulltime recording set up. Eventually.

That’s why, twice a week, I put a chair right in front of my ring camera to stand on…..pull down my pants….and point my a-hole right at the camera.

My assigned FBI agent has been dealing with E-Pink Eye for a couple years now.

Have you tried adjusting your sensitivity settings?

Same.

The chime though, is spot on and I stay home so I'm cool with that.

I have. I think my expectations of how it it should work are different than it does. Same with my blink cams.

Now agencies that use Flock can request that Ring doorbell users share footage to help with “evidence collection and investigative work.”

You can opt out.

Most peeps have Ring cameras to do their own surveillance, not relying on goverment to keep them safe.

But it would frighten he shite out of me if the thought-police (like in the UK currently) used Ring footage from my backyard BBQ to charge me with a benign comment that they subjectively determined as "hate speech".

We are fine with a surveillance state now. Twenty-five years ago, if someone installed a tracking device on a spouse’s vehicle they were seen as way overbearing. Today, if you do not share your exact location at all times with your entire family (by share location on phone), you are obviously hiding something.

I use Arlo. Hopefully they aren’t doing that.
