It really isn't though.

I know other posters can back me up on his keto obsession on the health board and suggesting it for almost any ailment other posters post on there.

The older you get the less you crave red meat. That has been my experience.

Mingo is dropping knowledge in this thread, you'd be better to listen. It isn't the beef causing health issues and that's for damn sure. Want to lose weight, get your lipids in order, and feel less depressed? Eat beef.

Steak tastes great but sometimes I wonder if it could reduce inflammation to cut it out

Know what you mean, I had pork ribs for dinner tonight.

Unless you have alpha - gal or can otherwise isolate the beef as causal, my money is on something else.

Imagine an H&F thread on the OT full of complete bullshite, who would have imagined?

To answer your question OP, yes I have cut back from 2 lbs most days to 1lbs 5 days a week and it's 96% lean as I am cutting and that is all that will fit in the poverty macros I have right now.

What did you hear?

Her 2nd cousin's best girlfriend said that they heard that they feed cattle soylent green on facebook.

They feed cattle what makes them gain weight and put on beef. That can be useful and nutritious byproducts, like distiller's grains, vegetable peels, etc. (even cotton lint) that otherwise would be wasted.

Cows are large, walking fermentation tanks that turn crap we don't want (grass, ag byproducts) into delicious, high quality protein with help from corn to get the right kind of flora growing in their digestive tracts. Lean red meat is not only high in iron and zinc, it also increases the absorption of these and other nutrients in your digestive system. Grass fed tastes slightly different than grain finished, and can be leaner, so try both to see what you like.
