We've been eating mostly fish, shellfish. pork and, yes, sausage ever since all that mad cow disease stuff happened.

Every once in awhile I'll fix roast beef which then necessitates us having a few days of leftovers. Or if I have an envie for a burger, I don't deny myself...but I'm metaphorically crossing my fingers against vCJD dementia.

Turns out we are just naturally eating according to the Mediterranean diet, which was surprising in a good way.

I don't eat near as much cow as I usta mainly cause it's so dang expensive. I mostly eat the more economical pig chicken and what ever I kill or catch. It's rare to cook beef now and I wait till its at least down to 5$/lb I hope all the no cow eaters will help push the price down last time I could afford it regular was the last mad cow scare

After I read what they feed cattle in feedlots I lost desire to eat it.

What did you hear?
———————————————————————————————-

It’s not what I heard,it’s what I read,Feedlot cattle are fed rendered roadkill, dried pig blood, chicken shite if chicken houses close by. My information came from book by Howard Lyman-MAD COWBOY.He was the ex-rancher and feedlot operator that turned vegetarian and was on Oprah Winfrey show and they were sued by Texas Cattleman Association.I have no reason to believe he lied,he was 4’th generation cattle rancher and
dairy farmer.
Dairy is another thing I quit and I loved cheese, yogurt and ice cream First of all humans were not designed to ingest milk of other animals,no other mammal drinks milk after weaning. But modern dairy farming is way gross.Cow never see a pasture, they are confined to a stall and feed is brought to them on a conveyer belt. They are given hormones to increase milk production and are milked 3 times a day.Subsequently they are prone to develop mastitis so they are frequently given antibiotics.Milk is allowed certain level of somatic cells ,somatic cells is medical term for pus. That killed it for me.
If anyone thinks I’m full of shite that’s fine.Life is all about choices and if anyone wants to continue eating factory beef and dairy, that’s fine by me.I’ll be the first to admit it tastes good.Your local oncologist ,cardiologist, and cardiac surgeon welcome the business.

I've seriously lost interest in beef consumption over the past 4-5 months. Don't really have the cravings for it.

Once a week at best now. A lot of times when I do eat it, my digestive/gastro system is all messed up.

Why in the wild wild world of sports would you do this?

Kudos. It's bad for you and terrible for the Amazon rainforest and rest of the planet.

Let the downvotes rain.

You been around any ticks lately?
I know a guy who got bitten by a tick and developed a meat allergy.

quote:

A bite from the Lone Star tick can cause people to develop an allergy to red meat, including beef and pork. This specific allergy is related to a carbohydrate called alpha-gal and is best diagnosed with a blood test. .

Per doctor's orders I eat mostly baked chicken and fish now. I still love beef though and have it once a week. I'll rotate between a good burger, steak, or roast.

The only time I use beef now is if I want a steak or am smoking a brisket. For all ground meat I use deer.
