I didnt eat beef for about 6 months this year because I had deer and wild pork. I dont particularly care for beef unless it is free range grass fed. It ain't natural for that much intramuscular fat to be there. You are basically eating a sick obese Kate upton animal

Being from the Midwest, you should especially know this slogan....Beef, it's what's for dinner.

It’s mainly toning up and building muscle at this point. Definitely wouldn’t mind putting back on weight if it’s muscle.

It’s easier for me to lose weight if I cut beef out of my daily diet.

I believe Chris Rock said it best:

“There are people starving all over the world. If you’re one of the lucky few who can get your hands on a steak, bite the shite out of it”.

I don’t have a problem with OleWar personally but he does tend to look at things only through his point of view.

KRS One said it best.

quote:

Beef, what a relief
When will this poisonous product cease?
This is another public service announcement
You can believe it, or you can doubt it
Let us begin now with the cow
The way it gets to your plate and how
The cow doesn't grow fast enough for man
So through his greed he makes a faster plan
He has drugs to make the cow grow quicker
Through the stress the cow gets sicker
Twenty-one different drugs are pumped
Into the cow in one big lump
So just before it dies, it cries
In the slaughterhouse full of germs and flies
Off with the head, they pack it, drain it, and cart it
And there it is, in your local supermarket
Red and bloody, a corpse, neatly packed
And you wonder about heart attacks?

Steers/cows are often implanted with different time release hormone capsules that makes them grow quicker and consume less feed/grass/hay to get to slaughter size. The cattle have a mandatory withdrawal period though so there is usually only trace amounts of the extra hormone left in the meat. I don't think that studies have found the amounts to be statistically significant.

quote:

Twenty-one different drugs are pumped

Because of mandatory withdrawal periods other than vaccines and worm medicine cows aren't pumped with extra drugs unless they are sick. It doesn't make financial sense to keep them all injected with extra antibiotics.

That poem is bullshite and I have no problem with cattle ranching, I just think that fast animals taste better.
