they don’t fix their screw up there are going to be some very wealthy, very powerful people at risk of losing a lot of money who won’t take too kindly to that.
And what are they gonna do?

Get sued by a lot of businesses. Also, they will need to redraw their budget for next year without the money they make from liquor.

They were elected in the first place. It's not hard to read the intent of local political candidates (keep our town small types, as population explodes 10X in 5 years, which means you're not getting a decent grocery store.)
But small town retards keep voting for them.
FiL is voting for the councilwoman running for Mayor because she grew up across the street..
thats it..
thats literally his reason

What in the Soviet U.S. is this bull shite.
Is this normal that a city council can just up and decide to vote to turn the city dry?
That’s all it takes is a vote amongst the council?

If your town is running on alcohol sales, might be best to try something else.

Anyone want to buy the Brown Door for $15?
The state suspended their license, so the city couldn’t renew it now even if they wanted to.
I imagine this will get fixed in November before it becomes an issue. But still it’s is incompetence by the council.

What the hell happened to the Hammond, America I know
Exactly!
Hammond used to be a place where you could go have a drink and listen to a decent band. Now all of those places are long gone.

RIP Gnarly Barley. Wonder if this will affect the Ren Fair or is that outside city limits.

I’d love to have Gnarley here in BR.

The irony is, it was abstaining and not actually voting for or against. One of them had to abstain and does every vote on alcohol license because of conflict of interest, but the others have been using abstaining as a weapon for years now.

It's a good choice though. She is very good and not one of the ones causing trouble.

Next thing you know they will outlaw dancing.

In protest, Gnarly Barley should host a dance "Before the city takes that away too"

Mariner's and Tommy's are about to go belly up. Hammond has some decent restaurants, going to be interesting to see what happens.

I guess I cause trouble too, if you mean people who think the Hammond Police Department is a joke and that everything in the City shouldn't be owned by five people in total...
I also believe that an 18-year-old should not be in a bar because it has been proven many times that individuals under 21 will drink there.
Its a city that demonizes liquor and pot on Sunday but swings by on Monday with the freshest kush from the fields

A shite ton of restaurants, bars, and some stores would close in the first year if this law really goes into affect.
