I feel for you stout.
My boxer probably won't live out the year. Degenerative spinal issue and she's slowly becoming paralyzed in her hind legs. Muscles in her hind legs have atrophied so much she can't even hold herself up anymore. 4 year old daughter loves that dog. Not looking forward to that day.

Man, if it gets to be a "not sure" situation, try to take him to LSU's Vet School.
They do great work there.

Yea I told the doc to do whatever he needed to over the next week while he is there and just let me know what it takes but I just can't stomach having him suffer as much as I hate to lose him.

Had a similar thing with my Golden (technically a lab/golden mix). It was the hip dysplasia that got her. I fricking carried her 80 pounds arse 4+ times a day to go to the bathroom until she simply couldnt/didnt want to go anymore. She was 16 years old though. I appreciated every second of that time anyways.

Wow...what timing. My wife is at the vet right now because our Shih Tzu hasn't eaten, had diarrhea and would not get up and walk this morning. They thought it might be pancreatitis. They are doing tests now and all I know is that her white blood cell count is up. She's only 3.

I had to have one put down because of cancer a few months ago. Damn tough thing to have to do. Hate to hear it, Stout.

So sad. One of the more difficult moments in my life was having to put down my "best bud- Alaskan Malamute" at the age of 9 due to cancer.

I may but I really think the ultrasound will tell us it's cancer. I suspected it already and when I gave him a bath yesterday I noticed some swelling on his stomach where the vet said he thinks he feels a mass. Also, you can tell that it was uncomfortable for the dog when touching the swelling. All of that is on top of his white blood count being high.

Thanks and I am not just saying because he's mine but he really is. I get compliments on him often. He's massive for a Golden and has big features. I have his brother too and his brother is not nearly as big or good looking and is also way more hyper and a PITA. They couldn't be any more different really.

That sucks. Hopefully he just has an infection of some sort and he will be ok. I hate it for you because that is a tough thing to have to do..
