Got hit by an uninsured driver on Saturday.

He made a left turn on a red light in front of me and I plowed into him. My car is fricked.
I'm not even sure he got a ticket for running the light. Multiple witnesses.
I'm sure I'll get sued anyway. If so, it'll be nuclear war.
I fricking hate people.

You have to make sure the police write witness statements into the accident report. Police are lazy and usually don’t do that unless there are injuries.

A buddy of mine is in the wreck business and he swears almost half the people don’t have insurance. Also your insurance company wants to blame you in the end to raise your rates. You are in a bind now with no repercussion available. When “they” don’t have insurance you are going to pay not “them” .

Our auto rates are insane because every lawyer commercial just says "Douche got me a check for 300,000!!!! He'll get you one to!!!!!" no mention of how bad the accident was or why they get a check. Just the thought if you get in an accident you get a check. And they have their own doctors who make up bullshite reports and swear on them. Then our brilliant state decided to just let insurance companies sue each other and intervene on behalf of a parties so we have an entire economic system built on personal injury lawyers settling with insurance company adjusters and lawyers for huge fees that are almost always unnecessary.
I hate this fricking state and lawyers and politicians some times.

I was hit by a driver with no insurance, outstanding warrants, and a suspended DL. Yes, they will go after your insurance company. All I could do was laugh when my insurance company called to let me know they were working on a settlement with the driver and her 2 passengers. Your insurance company will pay out. We have an amazing law system.

Car was occupied by a couple of old black men from New Orleans. When I saw them get out of the car, I said to my wife, "No insurance."

Even if you are deemed 100% at fault, if he doesn't have insurance, he cannot collect the first $15K in bodily injury damages against you, or the first $25K in property damage. La. is a no pay, no play state. Unless he has major injuries, no attorney is going to waste their time representing him to sue you.
