FAA rules. When you’re departing as well as on the approach and landing you must be in your assigned seat.
Been that way since 9/11.

I'm most shocked that a girl's flag football team has flown halfway across tbe country on multiple occasions to play............girl's flag football.

They need to be walking them around the kitchen. I'm fatigued over girls sports just as much.

Yep.

They can be real PITAs.

But, even more importantly, why does a girl's flag football team exist?

And where the frick did the money come from for all this traveling? Actually, I probably don't want to know....

“You people” is a group of individuals not following the rules.

See how I didn't mention skin color?

It really is Obama’s fault.

Is there video?

Based on the generic description, I can imagine two completely different scenarios of what happened.

Yes, but I'm not talking about trying to get into first class or anything like that. I'm talking people of the same party who simply want to swap seats with each other.

quote:

For example, I'm flying with my wife. I decide I'll take the aisle seat, even though it was technically assigned to her. How exactly does that make us entitled assholes? I've ran into this issue before. 9/10, it's never a problem. But I've had flight attendants tell us it wasn't allowed and to switch back.

If you swap seat immediately upon boarding, or when the fasten seat belt sign is off, no one will care.

If you’re moving around the cabin while the plane is trying to push back or is taxiing to the runway, you will 100% be told to sit back down in your seat.

Given this group already admitted she said to sit back down so they could take off, we can figure out they were moving around exactly when you’re not supposed to.

And yes, it is 100% entitlement to think you can move around the cabin whenever you want and hold up the plane full of hundreds of people.

Don’t be dumb.

My wife has early onset dementia so when we travel I make every effort to ensure we don't get separated. A couple of months ago we traveling and on one leg of our trip somehow we were separated on the plane. Before we backed out I told a FA of our situation and she asked what seat was she in. I told her and she commented that she would see what she what she could do. In maybe 5 minutes she was back and moving me next to my wife. I don't know what gyrations she had to do but, my point is I've found FAs to be very helpful when explaining and then asking for help. I've never taken it upon myself to just up and move.

I fly regularly and have seen this maybe once or twice in twenty years. Also, the rules are that the crew is in charge. If you have a problem you can get off, be thrown off, or chill out and report the crew later. You cannot make your own rules. This is for safety. It's absolutely not up for debate.

I've reported a couple crew over the years. But I want to get home to my family, so I'm going to shut my trap and get home. Sure beats "winning" the argument by waiting 5-8 hours to get another flight.

Finally I see the crew telling people all the time to take their assigned seats and quit moving around. Happens almost weekly. There are so many reasons this is a rule. Weight distribution is a big one. This is a big problem and not one we can just bend the rules.

Having seen the heifer who is suing, I can believe this is part of the reason.
