The “kid” had disappeared from view and attacked Zimmerman. He wasn’t defending himself.

FTFY. Even a justified shooting is very likely going to result in you going broke defending yourself in civil court and possibly still getting a judgment against you.

You get to keep breathing, though.

Depending on the situation and state you might be exempt from a civil case. I agree with your fix though. I'm doing everything possible not to get in that situation. Carrying has made me a much nicer person

I don’t remember much about the supposed girlfriend on phone, but if family and their attorney did push a fake and fake’s false testimony to push a charge something should happen to them.

Not sure how much of below has been proven as it’s coming from attorney representing Zimmerman in this.
quote:

Specifically, the complaint alleges that in March 2012, the Sanford Police Department thoroughly investigated the shooting of Trayvon Martin and closed the case as self-defense. A week later, Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump produced a recorded audio tape of "Diamond Eugene" whom he said was Trayvon's 16-year-old girlfriend who was on the phone with Trayvon just before the altercation. However, two weeks later, 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel, the alleged imposter, appeared before prosecutors claiming to be "Diamond Eugene" and provided false statements to incriminate Zimmerman based on coaching from others.

These allegations are the result of newly discovered evidence just published in a book and film by Hollywood film director Joel Gilbert, called The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America. Based on Trayvon's cell phone records, they allegedly show that Rachel Jeantel was not Trayvon's girlfriend, was not on the phone with Trayvon before the altercation, and that she lied repeatedly to cause Zimmerman's arrest and to try to send him to prison for life. The research also allegedly reveals that Trayvon's real girlfriend and legitimate phone witness was in fact Miami resident Brittany Diamond Eugene, who was switched out for Jeantel when Eugene refused to bear false witness against Zimmerman.

The defendants include those who allegedly either have been proven to know about the switch to the imposter witness, such as Trayvon's mother and 2020 Miami-Dade Commission candidate Sybrina Fulton, and others such as Tracy Martin, attorney Benjamin Crump, Florida prosecutors Bernie de la Rionda, John Guy, Angela Corey, the State of Florida, and FDLE - all of whom are alleged to either have known about or should have known about the witness fraud, obstructed justice, or lied repeatedly under oath in order to cover up their knowledge of the witness fraud.

So Zimmerman said something was "off" about Martin. He was able to notice this near dusk while it was raining.

He said it was because it was raining and the guy was casually walking not trying to get out of the rain. Does seem kinda off.
quote:

Zimmerman did call the police and he was told to stay in his car and wait for the police, instead he got out and all of a sudden,

No, he was already outside of the car when told that. And he was not told to stay in the car or to stop following, he was told “you don’t need to do that.” He wasn’t defying some police order.

One thing is absolutely true: Martin had run and evaded GZ, he was running in the direction of his father’s home, but he did not continue on home, so he must have either stopped or circled back around, and minutes later is beating GZs arse. Martin was free and clear to get home safe but didn’t for some reason.

You can shoot someone in self defense

You are absolutely right and that is a good thing.. However, I think Zimmerman got away with a technicality in this situation.

I think it is important to look at how they got into the situation that caused him to have to defend himself.

If you are at a red light and someone comes to your vehicle and tries to rob you and is a threat to you.. Blow that mother frickers head off.

But if someone is in their car and they see someone they THINK could be a threat to the neighborhood and they decide to go follow that person. Call the police then get out and proceed to follow that person on foot. Once the person being followed sees someone following them, then that person becomes a threat to them.

They get into a physical altercation. Was Martin defending himself? We have no idea what was said or what happened when Martin and Zimmerman were in each other's presence.

It was dark, did Zimmerman already have his gun drawn? Did Martin see someone with a gun following him? If Zimmerman was being suffocated how was he able to yell a dozen times? How was he able to get his gun and shoot Martin? Is there a chance the gun somehow ended up on the grown and Martin was either trying to stop him from getting to it or both were trying to fight for it?

The suffocation part is what I question because that's what make this a self protect situation. Was Zimmerman able to point at Martin and tell him to get the frick off of him or he was going to shoot him? (I am just throwing out arguments that could be made). Like I said earlier, there are two sides to the story and one was dead before he could tell his own.. And I am not saying his story would have been the accurate story, but like they say.. There is two sides of every story and the truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

Wow, even when given the facts you choose to wallow in ignorance. You are a truly stupid POS.

If he perceived Zimmerman as a threat why didn’t he simply walk/run the short distance home and instead waited to ambush or circled back around to confront him?

The fact is Martin perceived Zimmerman as someone bothering him or disrespecting him by looking at him and following him for a short distance and felt like cracking skulls over it.

AGAIN, if Martin had any inkling to avoiding a confrontation he easily could have, he had run and broken contact with GZ and was a short distance from home.

He was literally at the doorsteps according to cellphone data. Could have opened the door and walked in, GZ had already lost sight of him. But "scared for his life" Trayvon wanted to keep it real.

I genuinely think I’d be dead in this situation.

If a man followed me at night in my neighborhood and eventually got close to me without showing MAJOR signs of being a kind person I’d attempt to frick them up beyond recognition while screaming for help.

First off who is Zimmerman. He's a neighborhood watch. He has no right to confront, detain, or chase anybody. He's neighborhood watch. That kid has just as much right to be walking home on that street as anybody. If someone is following me and then stops and asks what I'm doing I'm asking if they are police, no, then I'm saying it's none of your business what I'm doing or where I'm going. Obviously Zimmerman is a scumbag we found that out by all the things he did after the trail and now to sue this family after he killed their son. Dude is a piece of work

I bet you still believe the "hands up, dont shoot" lie too

Two very different cases. Zimmerman has proven at this point that he is completely nuts and has not been able to stay out of trouble. Never heard of any person calling the police as many times as they said he did. He is many cards short of a full deck.
