re: Plastic restoration - JohnWicksDawg on 12/17/22 at 12:34 pm
its easy, just use a heat gun to heat it and it will return to that new plastic look.
but you should remove anything like gages and stuff you dont want to heat up.
heating plastic brings the oils back up to the surface of the plastic for that new plastic look.
I never cease to be... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: How many veterans are conceal carrying now? - JohnWicksDawg on 12/16/22 at 4:24 pm
Haven't decided if I will renew. I hate classes.
How well do you know/remember the legal "rules of engagement" for using deadly force ??
It would be bad to spend even a few nights in the local jail. I bet the thug you shoot has more friends in there than you or I do.

re: Range USA - JohnWicksDawg on 9/17/22 at 9:45 am
I'm late to the party, but FRC Range (on South Choctaw) allows drawing from a holster.
Same at Baker and Precision
and they encouraged us to draw because a real-life situation would require it. .
I guess common sense isn't too common at Range USA... re: Good pistol range in BR for ladies? - JohnWicksDawg on 9/10/22 at 9:10 am
There was a range officer standing there On the line which made me feel somewhat better that I wouldn’t get shot in the back by some new guy who just bought a gun an wants to be John Wick
I think I resent that.

re: First Time at Range USA on Millerville Road -- CORRECTION on Page 2 - JohnWicksDawg on 9/5/22 at 7:01 pm
Damn. That's what I pay for an hour at a range in Jackson.
I decided to check it out because I'm fed up with having guns pointed at me at the indoor range that I usually shoot at (Precision Indoor Range).
I've been a member at Precision for over 15 years (probably 20 - haven't been ... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2) |
re: First Time at Range USA on Millerville Road -- CORRECTION on Page 2 - JohnWicksDawg on 9/5/22 at 10:39 am CORRECTION: You are correct about the rapid fire rule at Range USA -- I replied earlier saying there isn't one. I went there 2 days ago and saw message on the flat screen monitor - "no rapid fire allowed."

re: Glock 43x/48 - Hellcat Pro - Sig P365 xMacro - JohnWicksDawg on 9/4/22 at 4:45 pm The muzzle flash has already been mentioned - although it will vary greatly with different powders.
I know of two instances where the shooter got debris (unburnt powder, burn powder ?) under his glasses and needed care from eye doctor for mild scratches. Both were with ported Glocks (One was .40 ... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Glock 43x/48 - Hellcat Pro - Sig P365 xMacro - JohnWicksDawg on 9/4/22 at 1:50 pm The Shield 15 round mags (flush mount) are a good add-on. They cost more than a typical Glock mag, but probably no more than a SIG mag - and the G48 grip gives you a lot better firing grip w/ less muzzle flip than the P365 Hellcat.
The G48 (w/ Shield mags) and the 365 Macro stack up pretty evenly... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3) |

They want to get on the other side of the shooting tables and run courses.
I'm sure there is physical access, although I didn't look for it.
The "shooting zone" is 25 yards deep and wide enough to accommodate 10 firing lanes. They have a second area (separated by a wall) that a... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: First Time at Range USA on Millerville Road -- CORRECTION on Page 2 - JohnWicksDawg on 8/31/22 at 9:01 am I have zero financial connection with Range USA. But there were no rules prohibiting rapid fire, drawing from holster or bringing your own targets.
Precision allows all this as well - but their layout/policies are still much less safe.
Bridgeview used to (maybe still does) have a rapid fire ... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |

First Time at Range USA on Millerville Road -- CORRECTION on Page 2 - JohnWicksDawg on 8/30/22 at 3:18 pm Impressive.
Really clean range (exact opposite of Precision) and full time RSO (also the opposite of Precision - the place where you can get guns pointed at you almost every trip).
