Boomers were handed absolutely nothing, worked decades in soul crushing jobs will no complaints, paid gobs of taxes, obeyed the law, were great citizens, were smart spending money, saved, raised families in mostly two parent homes. Later Boomers were too easy on their kids and gave them too much (GenX is also guilty of this), which lead today's generation of parents/young people who have little concept of self discipline, accountability and wisely spending money.

There's no more retarded boomer attitude than the attitude of disdain for family wealth and inheritance...something that should be applauded and encouraged is instead seen as some "immorality" and "transgression".
Boomers hate families that take care of their kids and pass on wealth. It makes them absolutely seethe. They would rather marry for the 4th time and will all of their inheritance to their 4th wife from Thailand or Vietnam in order to "teach their kids a lesson".
You cannot hate boomers enough.

You idiot, they worked hard for it, there were no handouts (unlike today), everything they had they earned it and paid cash. They didn't buy cars they couldn't afford, didn't buy $7 cups of coffee most started out in tiny starter homes. Most of their parents were influenced by the depression and hardships of WW2, they didn't coddle their kids and most didn't have anything near the disposable income we have today.
Give me an example of what they were given on a sliver plater. They were given nothing, they worked hard, put up with a ton of shite and earned it.
I'll wait for your response, but I doubt you able to list things they were "given." Folks today don't understand that thru the 80s, no one was given anything, everything was earned.

It was a world before globilsation and the US was the only superpower in town with SERIOUS manufacturing capacity.
You could make a good life working in a factory for a good salary, with a stay at home wife and family.
Over time countries rebuilt, others entered the chat (India, China), and legislation to grease the skids (that "giant sucking sound" that Ross Perot was right about.
Nutshell: boomers didn't really have to compete internationally. Everyone since lives in a world where most of the developed world will work for much less than what Americans will..

How am I greedy? Would like to know. I've been in the workforce for 39 years working for someone else. I pay taxes, paid into SS, have never been arrested and fly my American flag proudly. I've never received a dime of govt assistance I have paid into. I'm retiring soon, and hope I can live out my days on my retirement savings.
