Dumbest thing ever said in a casino is “I am playing with the houses money.” When they hand you a chip, it’s now your money.

Point being, when you are “up” and you lose it. That’s your money you lost. You lost $900 no matter what you tell yourself.

This sounds like the mindset of a dude with a gambling problem. Any regular person who only gambles once a year or so - it’s house money, sorry.

If you are of the mindset you “lost $900” you gamble too much.

Opportunity cost says you lost $900. You have a net positive earnings of $100, but you had that other money in you pocket and made a choice and lost it.

I only go to one casino. The biggest in the world: the stock market.

I just compare the balance of my stock portfolio at the end of each month with the previous end of month balance.

If I go up like that I put the $500 in my pocket and have discipline to just play with house money rest of the time

Win $100
Lost $100

Looking at it any other way is a path to losing a ton of money gambling. That's the mindset cainos and sportsbooks rely on to keep people hooked

With the positions I have, I'm not as excited to look at it for September as in previous months. I believe I lost a little of it back to the house.

I’m also under this month at the Charles Schwab Casino. The withdraw from the winnings to cover food, drinks and other expenses didn’t help.

That is how I typically roll.

I am proud of myself this month I abstained from going to the casino. I feel like I my finger is getting blue balls not touching a slot machine.

I do miss some of the comps. That is one thing missing in the equation if at a real casino. If you lost that much, how much will the casino offer you in the back end in free bets, comps, free hotel stays, and gifts?

Some casinos are better at this than others. Some casinos will offer you nice a nice return for you to come back as they are in business to entertain you and for you to come back. While others can be cheapskates, and very stingy with comps and rewards.

Win 100, because when you step foot inside of a casino with the money you have on you, assume it is gone in the next 30 mins.

The worst is everything else.

Not quite.

The best odds are at the poker table, because you are playing against other players instead of the house. You can beat players easier than the house.

Long term, the house always wins.

You are correct regarding games against the house, craps provides the best odds to the player, assuming you know how to play those odds.

Knew a guy that went on a business trip to Vegas with my grandfather. He refused to gamble due to religious beliefs. 3 days there and he didn’t gamble and as they were leaving to go to the airport they talked him into sticking 5 dollars in a slot on the way out.

He hit a 2 million jackpot on first spin. Never gambled again

Been to the final table twice playing pocket. Hate playing tourists.

Craps, I can be at an open table alone, and home with cash. Playing against the dice. House has zero control.
