For now, I'll go with this. I do expect it to tighten up some by election day.

House

Senate

I don't recall that happening.

Granted, I don't follow such things closely, so I certainly could have missed it.

But would you please provide more details or perhaps a link?

Not informing them of the vulnerabilities will make it much easier to catch the vote manipulators and hackers. Why tell the Japanese and Germans that you have broken their code? That's easy to understand.

Ah, ok.

So no big deal.

And that would be your exact reaction had this been done under Biden or Obama, right?

Secretly hacking voting machines?

1) why would the Trump Administration want to secretly hack voting machines, and not inform the companies if flaws were found?

2) what would be the reaction if this had happened under a different Administration?

Trump Appointees Asked a Federal Cybersecurity Agency to Secretly Acquire a Voting Machine — and Hack It

A few months into President Donald Trump’s second term, political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security made an unusual request of its agency focused on cybersecurity: Secretly acquire a voting machine and hack it.

The appointees wanted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to procure the machine, examine it and report back the findings so they could be given to the White House, according to two former administration officials with knowledge of the request.

The proposition was shocking to CISA’s career staffers, according to one of the former officials. CISA typically worked to thwart hackers. Moreover, the agency had been directed not to alert the voting machine company if it uncovered flaws, contrary to its standard practices. The request made the CISA employees fear they were being asked to take part in political interference.

“My thought was they could keep it in their back pocket to invalidate any [election] results they don’t like,” one of the former officials said. “This goes against everything CISA represents.”

The CISA employees repeatedly told the political appointees that their request was impossible, in part because the agents capable of pulling off such an operation had just been laid off by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative. The appointees eventually stopped pressing CISA.

Though not acted on, the request shows how the Trump administration has tried to use the agency for its own ends while draining it of resources for one of its critical missions: protecting the nation’s voting systems.

While I agree with you that peace should be the goal, Russia should not be rewarded for attacking Ukraine.

We should be on the side of Ukraine 100%. When Russia decides to live in peace, then we can welcome them.

Until that time, they remain the Evil Empire.

Supporting Russia is stupid and embarrassing.

Go ahead and support North Korea over South Korea while you're at it.

But to so many people, he can do no wrong, so they'll justify this for reasons.
I saw a video of police spraying pepper spray to disburse a crowd, supposedly it was at the LSU game yesterday.

Not sure if that actually happened. Anyone have more info?

Did your blinker fluid get changed as well?
I've taken several deer with a .243, never a problem. Honestly, I prefer my .270, but a .243 will do just fine.

Those are very high standards.

Hell no.

I wouldn't hire anyone who advertised on billboards or on tv.
I'm sure you'll agree with Dr. Angell regarding health care in our country.
quote:

Our health care system is based on the premise that health care is a commodity like VCRs or computers and that it should be distributed according to the ability to pay in the same way that consumer goods are. That's not what health care should be. Health care is a need; it's not a commodity, and it should be distributed according to need. If you're very sick, you should have a lot of it. If you're not sick, you shouldn't have a lot of it. But this should be seen as a personal, individual need, not as a commodity to be distributed like other marketplace commodities. That is a fundamental mistake in the way this country, and only this country, looks at health care. And that market ideology is what has made the health care system so dreadful, so bad at what it does. Yes, it does do what markets are supposed to do. It expands. That's what markets are supposed to do. And it distributes a good according to the ability to pay. But that sure is not what we want of health care. ....

I would pay for health care in a single payer system. LINK
