The ones buying those ads think the gulf coast is too risky to underwrite.

Very dependent on final location but they’ll be getting alot of S winds for a couple days so water is coming up nonetheless.

thats what I figured...the storm surge map on nhc doesn't seem bad. but these days it floods during a high tide anyway

Have we discussed how the current track puts S to SE winds directly up the Mississippi River threatening to cause it to run backwards and possibly jump channels to the Atchafalaya?

According to my 7yo daughter, she will be out of school for about 2 weeks. so yes, it's still a threat.

If the current models hold, we are on the favorable west side. We will get tropical winds and rain but Lake Charles should be taking a collective sigh of relief as of now.

Little Harold should get credit for standing up to Francine and softening the blow at least a bit.

I guess not when destruction somewhere along the gulf coast is guaranteed on an annual basis.

I'm not particularly pro insurance companies, just not surprised at them hiking rates or not insuring at all.

Seems like GFS has backed off it bombing out like they had last night. Hopefully that trend continues. I'm glad it seems like it's moving and won't linger

Great book - When the Mississippi Ran Backwards by Jay Feldman (link below). Highly recommend.

Read it for US History class at LSU.

That a good point, but if they are totally in for max profits, why do that much advertising? Honest question. Are customers that fickle?
