I hate it for anyone in Louisiana but let's hope this thing lands as a cat 1 or less and moves through quickly.

I have to admit I'm a little relieved for Lake Charles for obviously selfish reasons.

What's really sad, I'm not worried about the hurricane as much as I'm worried about insurance companies bumping up rates more.

Insurance companies are more destructive than hurricanes!

Toledo Bend should be fine.

Yeah but most of us live in the BR. Laffy area

A ton of people will have to cancel if a hurricane comes and fricks us up. Including me probably

Just chose something to show the overall shape of the storm. Not trying to mislead.

Where do you see THAT? I don't believe I've seen 950 on any of the models throughout this entire "event".

GFS model on Tropical Tidbits had it at 950 last night. This morning it is showing 974.

I don’t think it was ever there. 963 was the lowest I could find.

I’m assuming that as soon as they find a center, the modeling gets much more accurate, right?

Yep, that’s gonna be our moment of truth. When that center is confirmed, models will key in on an area and the forecast will become way more accurate. Right now it’s just a best guess based on an estimated center location.

It's so annoying that people come to this thread for needed information and 40 of 79 pages are you attention whoring and pretending like you have a clue what you are talking about.

Ehh people are just frustrated/ pissed a hurricane is heading their way and looking to take it out on someone. A few posters make it easy though.

While the Hurricane is the focal point I want to point out that these storms this season have been also tornado outbreak producers, and I think (outside the folks in Laffy/BR) this will be more of the issue working into Wednesday Night, Thursday Evening.

I would safely assume NWS in New Orleans will be sending up a balloon Wednesday for Tornado Potential.

There really is always one random arse line that heads straight for New Orleans
