He has been in Gonzales for a couple of years but has spent his whole priesthood before up north (dakotas maybe).

He seemed like an OK guy but with some health problems. I enjoyed his homilies but wasn’t involved at that parish. If I recall, he grew up in Baton Rouge but moved away for college and became a priest. His aging local family and a shortage of priests in Baton Rouge, were reasons for him to transfer down.

With limited ties to the area, I think someone convinced him early that the change was needed and for better or worse, he has hitched himself up to that side.

I was very pleased when my kid was in catholic school where the church and school really teamed up for a good experience. Great priest and great lay people are key to a good community. Alas there always seems to be infighting and personal politics at some point.

APP falling off a cliff

Anyone know why?
Uber uses similar pricing algorithms.

They know what restaurant you are at and which hotel you are heading to. They know if you’re local or on business travel. Their algorithms use the data to provide a price.

It was suggested to me to walk down the street from the nice steakhouse I was at and put in a random address a block from the hotel.

None of my apps need to read my email. This has to stop.

One huge step in the right direction would be to separate catastrophic coverage for major procedures and diseases from coverage to see a primary care doc and get basic medications.

The two unavoidable things that skew the cost of healthcare are old people and sick people. We have a plan for old people, Medicare. We have no plan for really sick people.

If Medicare or something similar could step in a pay for certain illnesses and procedures, the remaining cost would be more manageable for everyone and insurance would be more affordable and dynamic.

Brakes and More

… I usually get the more

Art is all about getting you back on the road. His repeat customers keep him busy so he is not looking for extra work. He is just into figuring out what’s wrong and giving you options. I have used him for decades!

Details Dead beat daughter sponging off her mother for 20 yrs fell, hit head on table and died 2 mo after mother. Was trying to see if any hope of a few $ to pay for cremation. Only $200 in her bank. $40000+ on credit cards, not worried about credit card companies getting paid

Sorry you have to go through that. I’ve given a lot of thought lately to our (mankind’s) capacity for greatness and our seemingly equal capacity for depravity. At the end of the day, she has to lie in the bed she made. You can only do what you can do.

Best wishes to you. May the mother and daughter rest in peace.
What caused the person to fall?

Not a lawyer… but liability needs 3 things.
1. Some duty of care owed to the other person.
2. A failure or breach of that duty
3. Injury or damages caused by the breach or failure.

If some trips over their own feet and hits a regular old table, how is it the fault of the homeowner? On the other hand, if said homeowner left banana peels on the floor and you fell on his game of thrones sword table, you might be looking at a suit.
My objection to the play is that several offensive lineman appear to be lined up offsides. Why isn’t that a penalty?
Not a lawyer either but as I understand it, Louisiana tradition was more statute driven whereas other states leaned heavier on common law and court precedent.

Over the decades, Louisiana has built up more case law and other jurisdictions have codified more into laws. Consequently, we are not as far apart as we once were.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
57 years.

iirc, Settled by the French in 1699/1700. Sold to the US in 1803.
I trust Brakes and More. Florida-sherwood-little John area.

Sometimes I go for the Brakes but most of the time it’s for the More.

Art and Gene are always looking to get me back on the road and not looking to make an extra sale.
Get with your agent first a better explanation, but from what I’ve heard, State Farm is offering a new endorsement where they will not argue about repairing versus replacing the entire roof. Any damage and you get a new roof. I am sure there is some fine print, including the current age of the roof. They are also only offering this at renewal.

Again talk to your agent as I am not an agent nor a customer of theirs.
Irony is the shirt he is wearing
