My 2008 F Tree Fiddy has 350,000 miles on it and still going strong. I have worn out 3 sets of truck nuts in that time and have only changed batteries and welding machines. Only one baw at our plant has a Toyota truck and it wont pull shite

I drive a 2002 Explorer with 189k miles. It still runs great with very little upkeep. The only major repair was a tranmission overhual 10 years ago. The paint had some issues so I got it painted 5 years ago and it looks like new.

I buy vehicles that are predominantly made in the US, Canada, or Japan These days, that's Nissans.

I'm not opposed to "domestics" I just wish they had more domestoc components on them.

Another reason I don't have a problem buying Japanese cars is that they're all built in America by American workers. My Nissan was built in Mississippi.
Ahhh, the Canton, MS plant.

Where for a model year they tried to build Infiniti SUVs but due to numerous complaints of shoddy workmanship had to stop production there and instead build that model in Japan.

Only Altimas and Nissan pickups are produced at Canton now.

Pass on those models, thanks.

I’ll stick with Japanese-built vehicles, in general.

Not Nissans though, Toyota or Honda. Possibly eventually Fuji.

They’d need to look better too.

The Germans (especially) and Japanese just design better looking small to midsize cars. And are often made here anyway or at least a lot of the components/finish.

I've never owned a foreign car, kept them all past 200k miles, and never had any issues other than normal wear and tear.

I had way more issues w/the '07 BMW 328i I used to drive than I've ever had w/my current '14 5.7 JGC Overland or the '97 Ford Explorer that I drove for over 10 years.

I had great luck with ford expedition’s, 200,000 plus miles on one of them. The big V-8 is a beast and u can get 400-500k miles out if it. Of course, usual ford shite on shocks brakes etc.

He destroyed that truck lol. I think he even dropped it from a helicopter and the engine still ran.

My problem with American branded vehicles is that quality and reliability are completely random, in my experience. I’ve owned three Chevy/GM’s, two were great, one was complete shite. I’ve had four Ford/Mercury’s, all were complete shite except one and it was only decent. I’ll never buy another Ford product. Wife had a Pontiac and a Jeep. The Pontiac was ok but just felt cheaply made, the Jeep was utter trash.

On the other hand, I’ve owned four Toyotas, and all of them have been great. I’ve owned two Nissans, one was great and the other was pretty good.

My son still drives the GMC Sierra Z71 that I bought new in 03’. I’m no fan of the UAW but I have been pleased with the two GMC trucks I have owned.

It’s getting to where the American brands are foreign-owned.

Honda is 20-21 spots behind Hyundai? The same Hyundai and Kia brands that have had scores of engines fail in 2011 to 2019 models resulting in a class action lawsuit and more recently, and unrelated, nearly a half MILLION cars recalled due to an engine fire risk??

THAT Kia and Hyundai??

I just can’t trust a list like that. JD Power or not.

My next truck is a 2021 Tundra. (Not the new V6)

My 08 Lexus LX 570 is bullet proof and we do all of the maintenance at Lexus. Almost 100k not one problem.

I’m going with what I believe to be the most reliable manufacturer from now on. Toyota/Lexus

I did both. I bought my American-made Tundra in October. Motor made in N. Carolina, whole truck designed in California, then built in San Antonio, Tejas.

Buy American.

What is an American branded vehicle? There are Chevys built in Korea. Fords built in China. Kia built in Georgia. Toyota built in Texas. Does it matter anymore?
