Ehh… it depends on when/where you are.
I’m not saying everything there is pristine, but it’s. It as bad as people would like to make you think in order to shun you away.
IMO people usually say that when they haven’t been and want to convince themselves it’s not worth it. It all depends on what you’re looking for.
Lots of piercings and tattoos, but there are those walking around with none of it. There are also those walking around that you would like to delete from your mind but in all honesty you can take a scan of the area when you walk in and generally avoid the people you don’t want to see but the people are usually really nice and after a bit you stop noticing. Generally the people there are taken care of hygiene wise, which is all that really matters.
ETA: if you’ve ever been to Collette’s, it’s just that on steroids

I'd like to do more reading and looking into the psychology before giving a definitive opinion on why people are like that but I did hear a theory that made sense to me. In a nutshell, when people consume heavy amounts of porn, they train their brain, and sexual reward system more specifically, for two things. They train it to find release, or a dopamine hit, in more and more extreme content over time and they also train their brain to find pleasure from being a watcher rather than a participant.
If you think about it, when you watch porn and masturbate to it, you're basically doing what a cuck does, only virtually. Functionally speaking, you're getting off from watching. Over time, the combination of the need for more and more hardcore content to stimulate the desensitized brain coupled with years of reaching orgasm from watching other people have sex = it seems like a hot idea to watch your wife have sex.

I used to have a work meeting every year that always fell on the same week as the AVN award show and convention. We would always plan one night to go down to the Hard Rock (host hotel) and hang out in the bar. It wasn't to see the porn stars (which was interesting in its own right) but rather to see the weird breadth of humanity that came to town to attend that convention. Dudes, and some gals, that would spend big money to get autographs and take photos with porn stars. Best people watching ever.

From my experience talking with people and being around “the lifestyle” this is a portion of it and it’s also the spouse getting off to their partner asserting dominance on another (if it’s the wife watching) and the guys getting off on their wife being pleasured and getting pounded. It’s not for me, but I can understand the dynamic and how somebody would be into it.

Now, of course, correlation isn’t always causation but when you hear or read enough times some version of “we watched porn together for years and eventually I wanted my wife to become my own personal porn star” it’s hard not to make the connection.
