that's a rough situation bro. no good advice from me, but you certainly have my empathy. hang in there. lots of good advice on this thread tbh. (also lots of bad advice, but i trust you can tell the genuine responses from the rest)

Are you the one who is getting divorced because you're in denial about your alcoholism or are you the one who is getting divorced because you told on yourself after you cheated on your wife.

Lean on family and close friends for support. Everything will be ok...

You need to do a paternity test on that kid when it comes

I can 100% confirm this to not be true. It seems half of the men these days can't even speak to a woman.

I live in the American Gardens Building on West 81st Street on the 11th floor. My name is Patrick Bateman. I’m 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

For the love of god, don’t immediately shack up with another chick. 2 of my neighbors back in La (who prob post here) did that, like almost within a week.

In this situation I wouldn’t even embrace the possibility of it being mine until proven.

Been here and it is an emotional roller coaster. I had all the same thoughts and it was lonely and kids with her.
All I can offer is no one can take away what your feeling and going through. However, it gets better and there will be a time you are grateful she did this. Being single is so much better.
Just go take care of you and continue doing healthy workout/eating/hobbies/hanging out, etc. Try to limit your alone time, but if you have to be alone, don't just sit in silence and contemplate.
It's been said many of times, but time does in fact heal. Even with kids I rarely even think of her, and really a lot of memories have faded or gone.
Good luck
If you have alcohol issues go fix that and don't get into any other relationships till you have a healthy way of dealing with life stresses.

Get healthy. Go to the gym. frick around. Volunteer for some cause that interests you. Learn to play an instrument. frick around. See the world. frick around. Be your own person in this huge arse world, not just someone's husband.
THERE ARE EIGHT BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. I'm sure your ex was alright, but in reality she's one of billions and you two were just one of billions of couples.
