Is med school teaching you that most healthy people would die from the flu if there were no flu vaccines?

Not at all. For several diseases we learn about we're taught how healthy lifestyles can be very helpful in avoiding and overcoming disease. For example, exercise is the only intervention proven to slow the progression of Parkinson's. But the idea that if you're young and healthy, it's a guarantee you fight it off is a fallacy. While less likely, healthy people can still die from these illnesses.

The flu sucks and they handle most of the circulating strains and alleviate symptoms of the strains they couldn’t anticipate.

It doesn’t prevent you from getting the flu. It just expedites the symptoms which you can get otc meds to do that. Take Zinc within 24 hrs of the first symptom. Saline rinses and otc pseudoephedrine will do the same

After COVID, no plans to vaccinate again. Mother in law had cancer and begrudgingly had the first two Pfizer shots in order to be around her. My gut told me it was a bad idea. So many healthy (not overweight and exercise regularly) people I know received the bio weapon and developed cancer or auto immune disorders like ulcerative colitis.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I don't remember ever having one, though I can't rule it out.

I’ve never had one. I wouldn’t rule out ever getting it. Maybe when I’m old.

D. It only works about 50% of the time. I feel like I don't need the shot at this point in my life. Maybe when I'm 80 and my immune system isnt as strong. But if you have a working immune system you should be fine.

C - but only got the vax when I was kid. Haven’t had one since and I’ve had the flu probably once or twice in 30+ years
