I agree. When you look at the numbers the money borrowed is much more important than the rate. So for someone like myself in the market sitting on what I would consider a decent down payment ( at least for me), I would much prefer a house $100 less with a 7.5% vs 100k more at 5.5%.
I want to borrow the least amount as possible.

I would love the idea of bringing my boat but also am considering doing a crappie trip too while up there, if able. So may just elect for a guide for both. At least for the first time to somewhat get the lay of the land.

Would like to take my dad somewhere you can catch the big bass We see on TV that’s not too far from South Louisiana. I have been on trout guided and crappie trips but never guided bass fishing.
Anyone have any experience with fishing Lake Fork or experience/recommendations with guides in that area?

So we keep six figures in our high-yield savings account. I have a brokerage, but only a fraction of that is in there. In your opinion is a high-yield savings account not a good place for that?
Would like to buy a home soon, which is why I keep it easilyaccessible.
